Oh I forgot JD Drew,

I can't figure that guy out. He stunk for 5 months last year then became very good in the playoffs. Does he not care or is he just inconsistent? Who knows?

We don't play Boston again until July and a whole lot can change between now and then. Having said that I would suggest that the Yanks take an "anybody but Manny" strategy with regard to pitching.
That is, you don't pitch to the guy with men on, period.

You let anyone else on the team beat you but him.

If Ortiz comes back to form this is problematic as he hits behind him, but so far this year you can go right after Ortiz.

No one in that current lineup scares me except Manny.

Ortiz-slumping
Lowell- hurt
Varitek- old
Pedroia- pesky but not much power
Ellsbury- punch and judy hitter
Lugo- are you kidding me?
Youklis- patient hitter, could be dangerous but throw strikes early and get ahead.

Manny is the only one to worry about. I hope Girardi takes this strategy next time.

the official time of the game was listed as 6 hours and 16 minutes

The Rockies scored their first run on abases loaded walk, and scored the second run with the help of an error. Heh, the Padres must feel like crap. I imagine the starting catchers for each team will have the day off tomorrow since they both caught 22 innings tonight.

I wonder how many hours tonight's game was! Almost came close to the 26 inning mark!

I think many of you read waaayyy to much into Girardi's about Phil. He only said what is painfully obvious to all of us he neeeds to give some lenth tomorrow but more importantly for himself he needs to have a good outing for himself. He didnt threaten him, he didnt say he was going to the minors all he said washe has to be good for us tomorrow.

Ya think?? He put no more pressure on him than he puts on himself.
