As for his son, if the Yankees did have thoughts of moving him to the starting rotation, the correct approach is to give him 2-3 starts between AA & AAA so he can get back to pacing himself as a starter needs to do. A reliever's mound presence is a different animal. Coming out of the bullpen for even 2 innings allows him to go full bore even if his pitch count were to reach 30 pitches. As a starter, he has to give hitters different looks after the first at bat and hitters also make their own adjustments. He understands this but he will still need to get his starter's rhythm back in form. Good news for Harlan.
