Finally The Duncan is back!!!
We certainly are going to need someone to step up down in the minors and claim a spot in the Yankees pen.
Glad to read that Shelley is back. I would assume he’d 1b today.
Step it up Ian, you had what it takes last year, that hasn’t changed!

Jennifer,
Where did you find that quote regarding Melancon and Cox.
Just curious. Thanks.
Never mind Jen, I’ve read it. thanks.
Pete’s article.
Melancon’s era has plunged recently with a dew decent outings.
Getting Shelley back is like putting Red Bull in the dugout cooler rather than Gatorade.
Melancon is going to be fine.. He had a couple bad outings in the begining but now is pitching much better. Also Cox seems to be pitching better as well. It should be interesting to see what the Yankees do with Cox, Robertson, Melancon and McCutchen later this year. McCutchen and Robertson have been lights out in Trenton and they should be promoted in a month or 2. McCutchen is under the radar because he hasn’t had as much hype as the big 3 but his numbers are very impressive and from the scouting reports I read he seems to have a power arm. He sits 90-94 and can touch 96.. I think he has a higher ceiling then Kennedy.
I thought maybe Phil would be used in relief on his throw day, but when I think about it…..it’s probably a good idea to stay with his regular routine. He may have a good thing going now; why mess with it?
They should be great replacements for Latroy and Farnsworthless.
Peter - what is it with your obssession to have the same lineup every day? Your need to take some shot at Girardi is petty.
I’m sure you’re aware that there have been some injuries on this team and that they now have some depth (that’s been lacking in the last few years) to enable the manager to give a guy a day off very now and then.
the consistent lineup thing is overrated; if anyone attributes performance issues to it, it’s IMO a lame excuse. the 1998 Yankees for example - they juggled Girardi & Posada at catcher, Ledee/spencer/Raines in LF, Strawberry/Davis at DH, and they did OK.
on this year’s team, putting aside lineup changes caused by caused by injuries, the “juggled” positions are just 1B, LF, & DH.
i like it, i was railing all morning about the inflexibility and stodginess of this team, i like that joe is emptying the bench today.
What kind of line up is this Girardi? ARE YOU SERIOUS? GEES, give us a chance to win today, COME ON
