Is it me or does Girardi not seem so confident in kennedy?

To be truthful, I’m more worried about our offense than our pitching. I really feel that if we got some runs on the board past 3, our pitchers wouldnt be in this position.

Kennedy showed some improvement tonight. Give the kid a break. Its early. He didnt do that bad. Its our running game thats the problem. & look at the TB game did anybody seem to notice that Ian had a great game when the lineup was scoring?
I hope they dont send him back to the minors, he showed improvement & I think he’ll be fine.

I don't see why Kennedy shouldn't be starting in five days. Though the walks were bad again, it is improved from previously. He also lasted longer than he has, and against a pretty good offense in Cleveland. If Chamberlain goes on the DL the Yankees might have a real problem. At this point we can really only trust him and Mo. However, I think that Patterson or Ramirez could fill his spot, because they are both good pitchers. I have a feeling the next few days will be full of roster moves, one I feel for sure will Ohlendorf optioned to AAA and either Rasner, Edwar, or Patterson called up. Without Joba we need help, because I'm surly not going to trust LaTroy Walkins or Kyle Farnsworthless to get through the 8th, and get the game to Mariano.

Let's get real...the problems with this team do not have anythting to do with Jeter...

Sure, he hit into a DP today at the worst time, but c'mon...the failure was on the team as a whole...

And really let's not get carried away with all of this...it's one game. How far are they back in the loss column? How early is it?

Let's get a grip! To listen to some of the poster's on this board you'd think the Yanks were out of it for this season already-you can't be serious!

i'm a huge Jeter fan, but I see how too many people drink his kool-aid and give him a pass. He's as accountable for the team's woes as everyone else is. Jeter's not to blame for the loss, but he failed to delivery like everyone else on the team - and he should be called out for it like everyone else will be (particularly like a certain 3rd baseman always is)

Dee he's the guy we can't afford to go kids hands with, because hitting in a double play, I mean just flyball, a single, heck even a GO to the right side, game over. He didn't come through that is why we loss. His defense right now may be a big issue, I don't understand how they can risk him at SS especially at this time in his career.

Yes, the weather (obviously) effects every team, but when you're hoping to get innings out of your starters because the pen is overworked or injured and Hughes is only throwing two innings, it screws up the entire pen until/unless somebody (Wang) goes 7 or 8 innings in their next start. How different would this game have been (froma pitching standpoint at least- can't say much about the offense) had Hughes been able to go 6 or 7 innings in his last start and we have a freshpen with an uninjured Joba.

When the pen was set I was one of those who thought it would be a good idea if they didn't take a long man just for the sake of having a long man- now I realize I am a moron and am just hoping they call up Rasner or someone to eat some innings until the starters get settled.

well my post isn't going through for some reason so I have to bunch it up

As bad as the 2 inning was for Ian please for anyone who wants to dispute a 23 yr. old giving up 3 runs and getting a no decision, he was not the reason we loss

5 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 4 BB, 2 K's

after the 2nd inning

3rd inning PT/S 19-8
4th inning PT/S 13-8
5th inning PT/S 16/9

that is a good start vs Cleveland especially after how he started today.

It's plain and simple Jeter "Captain GIDP" hits a flyball, a single, the game is over we win. No bitchin' tonight none of it, we actually start Saturday night w/ praises, but he hit into a double play, and I can't blame Melky either because people forget he is 23 yrs. old, still learning. Jetes single or flyball, even a groundball to the right side game over w/ Mariano closing it out.
