MO was DYN-O-MITE!

I almost stopped watching the game because of that annoying kid doing the oddball dances on the backstop. I was almost hoping Krazy Kyle would come in and imitate one of those Major League scenes where Sheen tags the maskot.

don't fire cash ....

I went out right after the game and as I was turning off of my block I was thinking "someone predicted a line reallyyyyy close to what Moose actually threw" and was thinking I needed to check it when I get back in.... great call man

I think we should predict the lines before every game lol

Of course Joba's skill set is on a much higher plane than Mendoza's. But the point is the Yanks were always a better team with Ramiro in the bullpen. The difference is Mendoza would have been used as a fifth starter and Joba a No. 2 or 3. Nevertheless, the ideal situation is to have the starters make it a harder decision to make.

Great blog Pete... I don't get how you pointing out stuff makes you an anti-yankee fan... I guess everytime AROD gets up in a close game and runners on when I say "the score is too close, he won't get a hit.. he only comes through when we are up big or down big" makes me a anti-yankee fan..

Pete your one of the best bloggers and a great writer.. I've become a reader of LoHud because of you... don't change a thing!

Alex said he probably pushed it to come back but he wants to play so badly. Said he would spend tomorrow getting treatment. Said that Derek did the right thing with the 6 days off and he'd probably miss a couple of games.

Alex certainly made it sound like it would be more than a one game break. He kept mentioning how Jeter did it right by taking off a few days and getting closer to 100% before returning. He mentioned that he felt closer to 75% when he came back but now it was closer to 50% (when he scored the run). I would not be surprised if he misses the Detroit series.

"Even so, Joba, like Ramiro Mendoza before him, may be too valuable of bullpen asset to justify a move to the rotation."

Not an apt comparison, methinks. Different roles, different stuff, different potential. Loved Mendoza, though. Very underrated contributer to the 90's teams.

Suzyn reported on the postgame report that Alex WASN't hit by that pitch on his bad quad, but that his original injury is now feeling worse.

Will Pete's blogs continue to drip with sarcasm from here on out? Has anyone ever jumped the shark...realized the error of their ways, and then jumped back? Maybe we'll get a first here...we know how those tabloid bloggers love to be first...
