Watch out for Krazy Kyle

Sam Mellinger blogs the Royals for the Kansas City Star and has an entertaining interview with Mark Teahen.
Check it out on Ball Star.
What’s most interesting for Yankees fans is that Teahen mentions that Kyle Farnsworth is the player he would least like to tangle with in a brawl and there’s a link to a clip of Kyle body-slamming Jeremy Affeldt.
As always, let me take this time to again mention what a great young man Kyle is and that I implore all Yankees fans to cheer for him.
(Meanwhile, how great a name is “Ball Star” for a blog? Much better than “LoHud Yankees Blog.”)

Yes, Pete, you should give your blog a catchy nickname.
“Ace on Ball”
“Can You Tell Me How to get to E Street?”
“Mea Culpa”
“It’s My Blog and I’ll Whine if I Want To”
“DFA Central”

Awesome clip…
Oops. The last one should be, “Edit function? We don’t need no stinking edit function!”
I like the way Farnworth moved from the outside of the pack and then took a backdoor route to get at Affeldt before he body slammed him.
If only his fastball had that sort of movement… although Kyle has looked increasingly better as of late.
I liked his first move up and in then down low. Great move. 27/08.
LoHud is a unique name. This wouldn’t be a bad name…

Great clip.
Best line: “You knew when big boy got in there it was gona be ON!”
I do hate how self-righteous announcers always get in those situations though.
Kyle must be a real nut. I think I heard Jim Rome once talking about Kyle is the one guy in baseball you don’t want to mess with.
Hey Pete… isn’t there another clip of Farnsworth pile driving a batter into the ground? I remember him being on the mound, hitting someone, having the batter charge him… and he just planted the guy. I’ve never been able to find a clip of that, if anyone has it… I’d love you forever for posting it…
Either leave the link here, or click on my name and post it as a reply to something in my blog. Thanks
I’ve always been willing to give Farnsworth the benefit of the doubt. If he’s added a cut fastball to go with his other stuff, he can be a contributor.
Mussina gets credit for trying his best in his last year.
Giambi is a whole different story. Only his contract keeps him on the roster.
Farnsworth has the shoulders of a lumberjack. Not the kind of guy to provoke.
Video made me smile - thanks.
james, i believe that was against the reds when kyle was a cub. ive never seen a clip of it but im pretty sure theres pictures of him on top of the guy coming down onto him with a punch. i could be wrong about the teams but nonetheless i like kyle and this year hes looked better and ive always thought he could be great.
overall great clip, pete.
Anyone else wonder just how much of Farny’s machismo is rooted in the fact that he has to wear glasses?
every team needs a hired gun, and we have kyle, just dont let any elk, oxen or caribu roam the clubhouse.
“and here comes farnsworth… OH No, the humanity.”
Hey, I’m just happy the boy’s pitching well. Last night was one of the more impressive outing I’ve seen him pitch in pinstripes.
I only hope he can duplicate it. I don’t expect him to be Joba, but consistently throwing strikes is a good start.
what a great clip. awesome. don’t mess with Kyle.

lol
Pete,
Don’t know if you ever hear the Kim Jones Laser eye commercial on the radio, but the highlight for me is when she says and I quote, “Now I can finally see all those balls and strikes clearly”.
You can’t listen to it and not laugh.
great clip, Pete….thanks !
You always have to respect a guy that stands up for his team.

WOW….yup, now that Farnsy is pitching great, he’s a keeper..and the bonus is…he’s the enforcer too !
Calling that a body slam is pretty generous.
I wonder how long this Giambi-Cano battle for futility will last. It’s still early, but these are two players in opposite ends of their careers struggling mightily for a month.
if the Farnsy-Wilson video link up there doesn’t work, you can use this link: rtsp://a592.v108693.c10869.g.vr.akamaistream.net/ondemand/7/592/10869/v0001/mlb.download.akamai.com/10869/mlb/open/2003/topplays/video/archive06/demand/061903_chncin_brawl_300.rm
but it ONLY WORKS IN REAL PLAYER, and you have to copy and paste it in!
Ah the Farns. You either love him or hate him.
Farnsy = fourth Hanson Brother in a baseball uniform?

Thank you…. I’ve been looking for that video foreverrrrrr
I’ll watch it everyday, it’s amazing
You know, suddenly, I kinda like the guy a little more…
