"Everyone knows these guys hit homers left and right in batting practice."

When you're talking about an injury to his push-off leg, knowing that he's driving the ball deep to center is a relevant piece of data when discussing his recovery from that injury.

let's just back track a little bit here. Before the quad injury how many make it count moments had A-Rod or any Yankee for that matter come through on??? What are A-Rod's numbers with RISP this season? What are the Yankees numbers with RISP this year? NOT GOOD!
Listen, I am not getting on anyone or venting or ripping anyone...just saying, I would like to see a few long homers, like yesterday, from everyone, including Alex when it counts. Everyone knows these guys hit homers left and right in batting practice.

Thanks again, Pete...for keeping all of us YANKEE FANS in the loop....even those who say they are BoSux fans, but strangely enough, prefer to hang out and hear about the daily workings of a REAL MLB Team ! :-)

"ummm…who said i was mad at Alex? It is just stupid what the AP reports."

You sounded it. I'm glad to hear that he was able to drive the ball. It means that he's able to generate power off his back leg. That's meaningful when we're talking about an injury to that leg.

Sara

A-Rod has a week until it can count. How about venting a little at some of the guys who can make it "count" in the next 7 days. You'll have about 120 days after that to rail at A-Rod.

Huh. Tonight is Wright's night to pitch. They've already got Geise moved into the rotation, and now they've got another spot starter in there too. Sure, you can say it's because they expect Igawa to get shelled and come back down, but we know SOMEONE out of the AAA rotation will be up in the bigs for the forseeable future -- whether Igawa and Kennedy swap after one more start, or Kennedy has to stay down and they decide White gives them a better shot at winning than Kei does or whatever. I guess they've got Horne coming back soon, and maybe they want to keep Giese in the rotation, so they didn't want to bring a guy up that they'd just have to send back down.
