I do believe Wang said that, but not in a complaint way, it is not his personality.
When he was interviewed by Taiwanese media in the past,he always kept himself from
offending others:coaches, teammates or opposite hitters ,he is cautious
about it.So I don't think he meant to blame anyone. Not to say he was speaking
English when he was not expressing himself completely well.

I saw his interview with Yes TV the other day and to tell the truth his English is not
fluent at all, he can only express what he want to say in a few words, that means he can not express his words thoroughly.Maybe he was nervous or something, we are not sure. But I am sure he was not expressing himself as well as he did in Mandarin.

In his interview in Mandarine with Taiwanese media yesterday, he didn't blame the hitters,he said :you can not always expect hitters to get a lot of runs for you, what you can do
is to keep the game close."And what he said about" it's tough to pitch with no runs support,he means his commend was not very good today and he need to pitch very carefully, when there were runners on base,he can not pitch with his leg elevating the way he wanted (when did the stretch),because that will allow the runners run a lot more (he was very cautious Rays are good runners). That's what he wanted to say about "it's tough to pitch with no run support."

I don't think he blamed the hitters at all,he knows they are in slump now and he believe that they will come through soon, because he knows they are all good hitters.

Some Yankee fans are being hyperbolic at another site in the comments section, saying that the Yankees, after these past few games, are "officially the worst team in the league".

Let me assure you from where I am out on the West Coast, the Yankees are definitely NOT the worst team in the league. Not by a long shot. They may be in the most competitive division at this point in time, though.

Like a lot of people keep saying in counterpoint to the whiners, though, it's a long season and there's a lot of warm weather baseball to be played. It'll slow down some teams, and speed up some others. Probably this one, too.

>Peter,
>No. You didn’t misquote them. But you did left out stuff and >single out setence to make your point. Mo, for example, said >a lot more on YES postgame, including blaming himself. But of >course that was omitted to make the point you wanted to make. >You don’t care what this do to a player’s image and it isn’t >the first time either.

I agreed! Peter, I think you need to be away from all those stupid Taiwanese media. That's the way they did; They will try to twist your word, misquote, fate report, untrue story... remember how Wang rejected to be interviewed by Taiwanese media last year? They are just piece of shxts in my options.

The comment Wang made doesn't seem like he is blaming his team. In fact, what Wang said is true! It doesn’t take much to figure out that it is hard to pitch without run support. Unlike Beckett who does get run support, Boston lost 4-5 last night. Wang did keep the game close, which is his job. Not only Wang, but I and countless others are surprised that a 200 million roster cannot muster up more than 1 run in two consecutive games.

Also keep in mind that eventhough Wang might understand English, he is still a foreigner and I am sure he is unable to express himself as well as a native speaker. The media is particularly good at taking quotes and reconstructing them to fit their own means. Unless, Wang constantly bashes his team, which he does not, take that quote with a grain of salt.

Right on, Pete!

I love Wang and I love how he went into ST with a mission and stepped up his game. I was angry when I heard the Yanks hem & haw over 600K when all Wang as done since coming on this team is win 19 games a year. The injustice of paying $46M for Igawa is criminal.

You know this team is in trouble when Wang & Matsui are speaking up and speaking truth!

I think the Zito trade idea is ridiculous! Yeah, take on a guy with 5 more terrible years left on a terrible contract. That makes sense. Giambi will b gone after this year. Damon could be traded. Igawa maybe too. His contract isn't bad. I do think bringing up Gardner is a good idea. Maybe he is the spark plug this offense needs. Get on base, a guy who can steal bases and force the issue.

How about getting rid of Morgan Ensberg to start with and signing Barry Bonds at DH? That'll get this offense going. And can you imagine a back to back Barry and ARod in the middle of our order? Forget about it, we'd destroy everyone.

Sorry, that above comment was about something that happened in game 1 of this series. It was the third inning and Yanks were down 1-0. Admittedly, Girardi is playing with a shallow and slow bench. But he is the manager and the buck stops with him. Injuries and all that stuff are all secondary. The Yanks have to manufacture runs.

If you have a runner on first with no out and Molina stepping up, that's about a bunt situation as any. I'm sure that guy can bunt. Instead, he swings at the second pitch for a double play. Managing like that is pretty pathetic.
