Its remarkable how similar the pitchers’ ERAa are for all 3 games.

I’m just saying it right now, if anyone harshes on Joe Morgan on Sunday night, I’m going to blow my stack.

If I didn’t, I’d be betraying everything I’ve ever known about baseball, broadcasting, and bratwurst.

  3. Kevin

We absolutely have to take two games from the Mets this weekend. I can not imagine the consequences if we lose two of three or God forbid get swept by the Mets. Just win two out of three please and I really do not care how ugly the games are this weekend.

  4. Shepherd

2 out of 3 would be amazing

  5. jennifer- I got your back Girardi

The Mets are playing like garbage right now, they aren’t scoring runs either. It is going to be who scores 1 run first wins.

  6. andy Hawkin's ghost

Ah, the legendary Santana -Rasner showdown. I feel a sweep comin’. Seriously.

  7. Fran

The Yanks are coming home. Need to win 2 of 3. The Mets have played really poorly of late also – maybe they are catching the Mets at the right time.

  8. Don Vito A. Bellamo

Sweeping the Met outta town will be a SWEET SWEEP INDEED ! :-)

  9. stuart

Kevin relax.. the world would not come to an end regardless of the outcome and the yankee season will not be over regardless.

they are 4 games out of 1st Arod has less AB’s then 9 other Yankees….

    Jorge has 60 Ab’s…

giambi and Cano have been wrecks…..

Damon has been bad SJ but he is hitting 260 not 208………..
I thought IPK pitched ok, he gave up a gopher ball right down the middle to the 9th place hitter for a 2 run jack. that was a terrible pitch that was it…when things are going wrong it works like this.. just remember Ray fans were chanting in the 9th inning that the Yankees SUCK.. Remember that for later in the season…….

  10. jennifer- I got your back Girardi

    Start sweeping the news…..

    Nick,
The game is being played at 1:00 in the afternoon. Just turn to YES and forget about ESPN.

  12. 56Bomber

Kennedy doesn’t look any better in tonight’s game than he did in the afternoon game. 1-0 Rays.

  13. jennifer- I got your back Girardi

Anyone going to the game tomorrow?

  14. jennifer- I got your back Girardi

    Ooops I mean Saturday.

  15. 56Bomber

    jennifer – going saturday.

  16. Nick in SF

Is Pete’s info above (and the schedule posted on yahoo) wrong? Yanks/Mets not the Sunday ESPN game?

  17. RustyJohn

Oh what a terrific story it would make if Rasner gives up 2 runs over 6 and Santana gets shelled and loses. Of course it would not be so terrific if the opposite occurs. Here’s to hoping $300k beats out $20 million

  18. Fran

Nick – it’s right. Saturday at 1 on YES. Sunday night at 8 on ESPN.

  19. ER, from the set of

    Mets will sweep.

  20. jennifer- I got your back Girardi

Rusty how sweep that would be ;) Seriously, I hope it backfires on willie that he pushed Johan back a day.

  21. ER, from the set of

It’s only a matter of time before the scouting catches up with Rasner and he gets shelled.

  22. Dee

Jennifer, I’m going to the game the day after tomorrow. We’re still not allowed to say that word (the day before sunday) on this blog b/c of the weird ban! Anyway I heard Hank will be on the house that day.

  23. Kevin

Stuart I am saying that because considering the Yankees are in last right now I am imagining the Steinbrenner residence in Tampa is not the greatest place to be right now. If we lose the series I can only imagine what Hank/quite possibly George could say or quite possibly do next.

Question: If we lose the series somehow do you think George will actually come out with a missive himself or do we hear from Hank again?

  24. Fran

The weather forecast is for rain and wind all day tomorrow. Wonder if they will get the game in.

  25. pat

    Nick

Pete has Sunday listed as the ESPN game.

Plus it’s usually full of Steinbrenners.

  27. S.A.- I still believe in this team. But they need to wake up.

Is it suppose to rain all day tomorrow?

  28. jennifer- I got your back Girardi

Dee… I guess that is why my next post didn’t get through. I meant to write the day after Friday. I am going for the Mussina meet and greet. :)

  29. S.A.- I still believe in this team. But they need to wake up.

    Oops-Fran had the answer. :)

  30. pat

    Nick

(sorry I posted before I finished)

and MLB.com has it listed as the ESPN game too.

  31. Nick in SF

    That’s what I thought.

    Boo, crawdaddie, booooo!

  32. Dee

Looks like Pete lifted the “Saturday” ban.

Jennifer, there’s a Mussina meet and greet???

  33. Jeter's future wife

    I’ve got Rasner beating Santana!

  34. LadyBug626

On paper, Santana is the clear winner vs Rasner. But this is baseball and you never know. The Mets have got serious internal problems right now and aren’t syncing at all. The Yanks at least play like a team (win or lose).
