It seems Willie’s had problems getting those guys discipilined. I can’t imagine Willie’s ok with all the showboating nonsense that goes on on that team coming from where he did. Yet he lets it go on. That’s a big part of the problem. Those guys aren’t focused enough on baseball. It sort of tells me that he doesn’t have this club’s respect. Or is just not the right guy to tell them to cut the shuckin’ and jivin’ and play baseball. Also, the Mets have to be the biggest bunch of loafers in MLB right now. I know it has become widespread in the sport to jog to 1st instead of running all out. But the Mets make Manny Ramirez look like Pete Rose.
Girardi is a fool for skipping Rasner in favor of Kennedy. First of all, the Yankees are in last place and need to win games. Second of all, what kind of message does that send? “Go to minors, don’t complain, come up, pitch well, get skipped. Start in majors, pitch awful, complain, get sent down, complain about getting sent down, get called up, pitch terrible, get another start.”
Let Kennedy develop in a long relief spot for a time. The one time Girardi used him in relief (in KC) he bitched about not starting the game and being “out of rhythm”. Someone needs to tell him YOU ARE A ROOKIE AND YOU ARE NOT PLAYING WELL - TAKE WHAT YOU GET. YOU ARE NOT HELPING THE TEAM WIN RIGHT NOW. If he’s a true major leaguer he will get the message and improve.
I wouldn’t say Girardi is a fool for skipping Rasner, but I am disappointed because Rasner seemed to be in a nice rhythm and I think he could have pitched a nice game today.
The clear sign of a team hovering around the .500 mark. The Yankees have not had a winning streak of more than 3 games nor a losing streak of more than 3 games.
Otherwise known as spinning their wheels.
Why they couldn’t make up the game TODAY?!
People who had tickets to yesterday’s game, but are still in town to be able to make today’s, are screwed now. Alot of us can’t reschedule our leave time/vacation for June!
Mother of GOD!
