Jeter SS
Matsui DH
Rodriguez 3B
Giambi 1B
Duncan RF
Cano 2B
Molina C
Cabrera CF
Kennedy RHP

Ian Kennedy (0-3, 8.48) against the Orioles hitters.

Brian Burres (4-4, 3.47) against the Yankees hitters.

Notes: Thanks to Brian Heyman for calling in the lineup. … Bobby Abreu is 0 for 10 with three Ks against Burres, hence the night off. … Jeff Karstens was activated off the disabled list and optioned to Scranton. Be interesting to see who the SWB Yankees put in the bullpen. At the moment they have Karstens, Igawa, Giese, White, McCutchen and Marquez on the roster. Giese started the season in the bullpen so maybe he’ll go back. Can you try Igawa as a reliever and see if that works?

Enjoy the game.

UPDATE, 7:13 p.m.: Think that Joba news may have been a little kick in the pants to Kennedy? 1-2-3 in the first, good sign for him.

UPDATE, 7:49 p.m.: Joba is scheduled to throw in Saturday’s game, about 45 pitches. This suggests to me that they will bump Wang to Sunday and pitch Moose on Saturday on short rest after his brief stint on Tuesday. Moose can go 5 or 6 and leave the rest of the game for Joba. Wang is more likely to go 7.

Nice job by IPK squirming out of trouble there.

UPDATE, 8:11 p.m.: Turns out Wang will pitch on Sunday. The well-sourced Mark Feinsand took a break from breaking down the Redskins schedule to report on his blog that Moose is going Saturday and Wang on Sunday.

UPDATE, 8:29 p.m.: Nice job by Kennedy so far. 5 3 1 1 3 3. They should be able to get at least six out of him.

I hate to say it. But how crazy would it be if the Yankees take the lead and lose it in the 8th inning because Joba’s not available? People will lose their minds.

UPDATE, 8:56 p.m.: Let the auditions begin! Jose Veras in the 7th inning of a 1-1 game. Hold on tight.

UPDATE, 9:20 p.m.: It is a universal law of physics that the Yankees will win any time Kyle Farnsworth has a 1-2-3 inning.

Therefore, one Alexander Rodriguez will crank one out in the ninth to win the game. Prepare the celebration, all is well.

UPDATE, 9:40 p.m.: Yankees win this game 2-1 or 3-1. Just depends if Matsui gets on base. A-Rod’s drilling one out.

UPDATE, 9:45 p.m.: Matsui singles, now they have to pitch to him instead of being careful.

UPDATE, 9:47 p.m.: Damn you, A-Rod.

UPDATE, 9:53 p.m.: Fiery Joe Girardi has been ejected. The Yankees will win for sure now.

UPDATE, 9:59 p.m.: Did I say A-Rod? I meant Cano. The Kyle Farnsworth Rule is never wrong, regardless.

Meanwhile I need a new radio in my office. The old one melted when John Sterling started screaming.
