I am neglecting to see many people talking about Giambi- it's really sad. The way he's helped the offense, granted it was limited with the A-Rod-less streak, he helped get them through. Gotta give him credit

"Wang was never considered a top prospect, yet he’s won more games than anyone the past two years. In a perfect world, Wang is a number three starter. And hopefully, next year, he is.
1. C.C.
2. Joba
3. Wang"

People forget easily on this blog. Last year there are many people thinking Hughes will be the Ace of staff this year. They named:
1. Santana
2. Hughes
3. Wang
When Hughes stinks and Santana isn't as sharp as he used to be, these guys are all gone. Now people turn into Sabathia and Joba. Even though Sabathia also stink in last year's playoff and got out-dueled by Wang this year.

Interestingly, many people said Wang can't stand up on big games while Wang actually out-dueled many "Aces" during his 6 win period, while got shelled when the opposing pitchers are considered mediocre.

When Wang went 6IP 1ER in 2005 and won the only playoff win in 2006, nobody even seems to worry about him on "big f***ing playoff games".

When Torre started him on 2007 game 4 ALCS, he treated him as an Ace. When Girardi started him in 2008 home opener, he treated him as an Ace. When Cashman did not get a starting pitcher this year, he definitely thought Wang is the Ace, can start playoff game 1 and there is no need for another one. And still, fans would say their favorite team's GM and coaches are brain-dead.

Peter was right. Wang sometimes just doesn't have love from the fans.

its amazing how much some yankees fans can deny reality. the beckett thing last night was surreal. ditto with alot of the reactions to lester's no-no. just wait till manny hits his 500th!

why can't people appreciate great baseball and great baseball players while still rooting for thier team? Beckett and Manny are great, so were Yastermski and Williams. does that mean im rooting for the red sox? no it means i love great baseball players from other teams even as i root for them to lose.

does that make me less of a yankees fan or more of a baseball fan?

i think we should create a new stat for a player who's complete collapse results in his manager being fired. we can call it a 'reyes' as in:

"the met's shortstop let another ball go through his legs and got picked off 2nd base again last night, leading the wilpons to let willie randolph go. give jose a 'reyes' for that one!
