"I know it would be unprecedented, but teh FO should bring his wife and child to the states or something, anything to make him comfortable"

his wife is here. waiting with the car right outside the door after the game.

JETERMACK,

That's a terrific idea. Hank should hear it. It's nice to see someone make a suggestion rather than make a judgement.

I dont think very much is settled in the Yankee outfield in the future. Melky is showing himself to be a .250 hitter(less from the right side)with little power. If we want a better defesive outfileder we would go with Gardner who could at least hit .250 and steal a bunch of bases. Melky is serverly overated because he is a Yankee. Left field is a disaster who two aged veterens, who make every play an adventure and niether of whom can throw. Abreu wont go near fences but he can at least hit and sometimes throw somebody out. I think that the Yankees need to rethink both Left and Center and sign Abreu. Not suure what is out there in free agency maybe Carl Craford? but Damon can be moved in the of season, Giambi could be let go and Matzuii could be a permanent DH

Welcome back, GreenBeret!

Agree with you on Abreu coming back, although i believe it will be in the DH capacity. . .

Doreen - It very well could have been a culmination of events. It seems Tabata doesn't always have his head in the game. Too many times he seems to just go through the motions (if he moves) when fielding. He definitly has not been aggressive in throwing the ball back in either. All other OF's have nailed guys at the plate with throws or been aggressive eenough trying to. Add in his hitting woes (3 for 13 during the homestand) and his frustration was bound to set in again.

NJ Yankees Fan -

We were at the rained-out game a couple of Sundays ago, and there was a play - a fly ball to the outfield that no one caught - where Tabata could have been more aggressive on, shall we say? So perhaps last night was a culmination of a few incidents, more than just last night?

I was at the game and there was an incident in the dugout after the inning and Tabata looked to have ben pulled backwards into thetunnel. A couple minutes later he came out, grabbed his bats from the rack, went to the opposite side of the dugout and got his hat and glove and walked to the locker room. He was not looking too happy when he left the building after the game last night.

In addition to failing to backup Jackson on the fly ball there was another fly hit to medium right field tha Corona went deep to get. Tabata should have called him off of that one but he was once again lazy in getting to it. Tabata needs to get his stuff together quickly. How many more incidents are the Yankees willing to endure with him? Two in a month cannot bode well for him.

On a side note - Reggie was not there last night.

Maturity will definitely be one of the tougher lessons the Yankees will have to teach to Tabata.
