The Chicago Sun-Times is reporting that the Blackhawks will host the Red Wings at Wrigley Field in January.
That would seem to take Yankee Stadium out of the mix for the NHL’s Winter Classic.

What is this hockey you speak of?
Good. The last game at the stadium should be a Yankee game. Hopefully a WS game, but with this team it could be the end of Sept.
The outdoor winter event is truly classic. The Pens-Sabres game in Buffalo was terrific. It was a great reward for true hockey fans to see their sport showcased like that. The folks in Chicago will have one heck of a treat with the Winter Classic.
Now – can we get a Red Sox vs Yankees game at Giants or Gillete Stadium and pack in 100,000 people each game for a 3 game set?
too bad i was really looking forward to that event. would have been a great time.
personally i dont think its a bad thing to close the stadium out with a hockey game.
how that would diminish the significance of the last baseball game at yankee stadium is beyond me.
I like hockey, but I’m glad it looks like the last game at Yankee Stadium is going to be a baseball game.

That would be fantastic
Thank GOD!!!!!!!!!
that really stinks. As a die hard Ranger fan I was looking forward to that game.
i’m not too into hockey, but kind of liked the idea. too bad.
dats a shame, maybe Shea next year.
I think that the Rangers should play one game there, and if it fits the Giants should play one game there.
Too bad, was really looking forward to it.
