Nick, have you watched the first part of this season?

Do you know what the chances are of this team going 70-36 like they did last year in the second half to secure a WILD CARD berth?

Things are much, much different this year. You spoiled, post-96 Yankees fans. Think its your birthright to be in the playoffs EVERY year.

Wish y'all knee jerks were around in the 80's.

Again, my math isn't great, but this team is 28-28, which means .500.

Hopefully they turn it around. Still some time, 2/3 of the season remains. Keeping fingers crossed!

I'd like to see the same research for Cabrera because he's falling into the bad habit of swinging at the first pitch too.

Hopefully he gets another shot to atone for the mortal sin of not backaing up a base!

JMO, but I think both Patterson and Britton could have done a better job attacking the stike zone. Altho, some of that could have been the fairly bad and inconsistent calls of the umpire...

Joe,
It's all good. I didn't say anything about anyone but Scott. People can comment on anything they want here. Oh well. I've got no problem with you though.

PeteAbe,

I still don't know why Patterson wasn't called before now...is it because he gave up ONE run in his debut? Or struck out Gomez with the bases loaded in his debut?

Forgetting to back up a base is something that shouldn't happen but does from time to time. It had zero impact on this game. I understand you have a slight man crush on Britton (I'm just kidding...I think), but there is no reason to draw as hasty a conclusion as that on a guy that gave up one hit after getting out of a jam the inning before.

Also, ThunderfanGabe...
They are good people, and he DOES deserve to have good things happen to him, but there was a reason Scott getting called up had not been released to the press by Scott or the Yankees. Until everyone involved has been spoken to professionally (Ensberg), they don't like to release that stuff. You don't want to find out you got DFA'd by Peter's blog here, and the Yankees don't want it either. Hope I don't sound like too much of a jerk, but it's a pretty fragile situation when guys careers are in the balance and nobody knows if it is them about to "die" (DFA'd). Ok, sorry for preaching!

I can't stress enough, though, Scott deserves this as much as anyone "deserves" being a big leaguer. Great dude...

Your stats are true, Bradon. 8-3 in the last 11 is great.

But the overall record is...

28-28.

6.5 back.

BTW, that math tells me they are a .500 team at this point.

I'm not saying they might as well be aranging deck chairs on the Titanic. I do think this team could make the playoffs.

But right now, and for the first two months of the season, they have been at the .500 mark.
