I’m no Sox fan, but this joy at players getting injured is really pathetic. Baseball is at its best when the Sox and Yanks are battling at full strength. We shouldn’t have to rely on injuries to opposing players for wins.

Schilling out this year, Lowell missed time this year. Manny was injured last year. Every team gets injuries

Why shouldn’t Hank talk? He’s absolutely right. Nowhere do I see him proclaiming Joba as the best pitcher of this generation or of this staff. He is only saying that Joba has the chance to have a long and successful career and that starting pitching is very important. It seems like people rip Hank just to rip him at this point.

it’s also about not just thinking about tomorrow, but two, three, and five years from now when building your team. the teams we’ve put together this decade haven’t even been built to get past the first round of the playoffs.

this is the Hank that gives me high hopes as to this team.

Which was a miracle that ended when the Sox swept them with dominating starting pitching and a good bullpen.

Hank really should let someone else who knows about baseball do the talking for the organization. As for Joba, he can always go back into the rotation being an eigth inning guy if it does not work out for a starter. Whatever….it is about improving the NYY organization and not Joba, right?!

I dont see anything bad with what he said, except to agree with lupica today it seems like a lot of pressure pretty quickly — but overall why not try it, this team is a mess, pettite cant hold 3 leads like pete mentioned, the runners left on base every inning —- and mr cano — what a joke
yeah i guess its early, and i guess mussina can go 27-9

It’s all starting with starting pitchers in palyoff,yes.But 2006 Cardinals won it with only a stable pitcher in the rotation who is Carpenter. Jeff Weaver?Suppan? Anthony Reyes? None of them were good in regular season.
