Trachsel and Pedro both pitched complete games allowing 3 hits and 6 hits respectively. Trachsel's Devil Rays won 1-0. I've seen great pitching performances by one pitcher but this was absolutely one of the greatest head to head pitching matchups I have ever seen. With Damon on Gardner in the outfield together it would be where singles went to grow up to be doubles. Melkey is only 23 vs Gardner at 25. Melkey is considered to be a better player. also Melkey average from the right side is on the rise.
