The Forever .500 Yankees fell to the Athletics last night as Darrell Rasner got ripped.

Joba Chamberlain and the rest of the pitchers are getting ready for interleague games. This notebook also has updates on draft signings and surgery for Andrew Brackman.

Andy Pettitte is in a slump. But that’s nothing new for this time of the season. He starts tonight.

A music industry source has informed blog headquarters that 3 Doors Down will be playing two songs on July 14 during the Home Run Derby at Yankee Stadium.

————-

Mike Silva of Blog Talk Radio recorded a good interview with Richard Bradley, author of the book The Greatest Game, The Yankees, Red Sox, and 1978 Playoffs. There also was an appearance from Sparky Lyle.

Shouldn’t they have tried to have Bruce Springsteen there instead? I mean it is the last All-Star game in Yankee Stadium. Bet you would have loved that Pete!!

you know I was thinking about going to the home run derby. now with three doors down playing, I’m not so sure.

It was only a matter of time before Darrell got Razzed. He’s basically got about two weeks to win a few games before Kennedy comes back. I see Razner going to the pen, after Kennedy comes back. As for Ohlendorf, three walks! He should be going back to Scranton by th eend of this post.

Bruce is great, but when they book acts they have to consider availability and cost (Bruce is pricey and he may already be busy). Also, the sports leagues these days put on entertainers that attract the marketing-coveted 18-34 fan.

Wait a minute…Dwight Yoakam will perform “2 doors down” at the all-star game? Oh, it’s 3 doors down…bummer.

Wow, 3 Doors Down is AWFUL. Its Yankees Stadium! They should have done a heck of a lot better than 3 Doors Down.

This is Yankee Stadium’s last year we’re talking about. If they can spend $208 million on their payroll, they can bring in a musical act that is actually talented.

Torre called, he wants Pavano game 1 WS @ Yankee Stadium – Cash, make the deal – trade him for a bag of balls.

  9. Steve

Yankee, why would we drop Rasner out of the rotation for Kennedy? IPK hasn’t done jack to prove he’s earned a starting spot in this year’s rotation, while Rasner has. Darrell’s outing last night was par for the course for IPK.

  10. Drew

Hopefully 3 Doors Down drowns out Chris Berman.
