C.C. Sabathia is going nowhere until at least the end of July.
Cleveland is not out of the picture in the AL Central Division. A good 2 week stretch could find them on the doorstep of 1st place.
No team is waving white flags for their fans to see this soon.

Brandon,

Please don’t try to sell that Santana isn’t one of the top 3 pitchers in baseball.

I don't have too, he really isn't.

Drive-by posting by a lurker...

IMHO McCutchen is not the answer to fill in for Wang. I was down in Norfolk last night to watch, and while I was cheering for him in pitching a complete game, the Tides pretty much...suck. I'm not saying that I think McCutchen is bad, just don't think he's as good as his numbers from yesterday imply.

In other news from the SWB game, Matt Carson hit 2 homers (one solo, one for 3 runs). Cody Ransom also hit a homer. Brett Gardner hit a leadoff triple in the first, and later he threw someone out at home by a couple of feet from mid to deep left field. I was very impressed with his arm. Unfortunately, Shelley wasn't even in the dugout.

"No, but none of us know how Rasner is going to continue to perform. It’s kinda like how I don’t think many expected Mussina to be as successful as he has been this year."

Mussina is a borderline HOF. Rasner was cut in November.

Don't compare them please.

"That’s not what Cleveland wants, w/ Cleveland they want a bulk w/ good hitting position players"

Knowing Wang's injured? They wouldn't be happy unless we walked away from the deal bleeding profusely.

"that’s not a move the Yankees would make for someone they can get for free in the offseason."

Not technically free. If he makes it to the open market of free agency, his price tag will go up quite a bit and the Yanks would also lose their first rd pick.

When Hamels wins a Cy young and leads the league in K’s we can talk. Otherwise that is ridiculous.

You apparently haven't read any stats on Santana. Year to year he has declined, velocity wise and performance wise, his ERA in not the best in the NL East. His WHIP is not the best in the NL East, he has yet to face a legit offense and the only start in which he look dominant was vs Arizona. Again check back w/ me in a month from now.

TKinDC,

Lol, about a "certain" person wanting a tampering investigation done on Mattingly consultation.

BUt that person is only interested if the "tamperer" is Joe Torre.

It’s a panic move trading 2 5th starters for a lefty ace?

Hmmmm

No it's a panic move on what it will take to get CC, just because you say Kennedy and Marquez, That's not what Cleveland wants, w/ Cleveland they want a bulk w/ good hitting position players that's is why it is a panic move, it could cost you Austin Jackson or Jesus Montero and that's not a move the Yankees would make for someone they can get for free in the offseason.
