"LOL at Jeter throwing his gum at Melky then Melky kicking it."

It's a ritual, they do that every time they win a game.

A quick glance at the comments here looks like it was a fun game, can't wait to watch it tonight. So no Trevor Hoffman, I'm glad Padres didn't get to use him this series but would have been nice to see the Hoffman vs. Mo match-up. That would be insane.

Looking forward to Moose and his win #11 tomorrow. Gotta say, finally got to see Cy Peavy last night, Brandon Webb at Shea last week and also Santana from the last subway series game, it's only one-game sample per I know, but these NL "aces" didn't impress me at all. Even with Wang out, I'm still optimistic about our rotation especially with Mo, Andy and Joba so dialed in now. I hope Cashman doesn't go out to do anything rash the next few weeks.

"But with both guys the sense of pure waste was hard to get over. That’s what was left - just waste. "

PJH sweeping Cincy won't be easy with Volquez on the mound. Mets just took 2 of 3 from LAA, plus they always get up to play us, especially at Shea. Texas is a solid team, and Pittsburgh aint as bad as they usually are. Those teams are definitely not pushovers.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, especially with the Reds. They have very good starting pitching and Volquez has been hands down the best pitcher in baseball this year.

The yanks are playing better but they're still having trouble scoring runs in games they don't hit home runs in. They also have no idea what they are going to get out of Giese or who is going to pitch the other game of the double header.

Between facing Volquez and that double header they could definitely take a couple of steps back.

Kyle Farnsworth was brought here to be what Tom Gordon was for us, and what Mo was in '96 for us, which is a closer-caliber guy in the 8th inning. He was given closer money. He hasn't even come close to doing the job in three seasons. Therefore, there's no reason to have confidence in him.

Let's not let that cloud another awesome victory for the Yanks. Seven over .500? I really like that.
