Last night David Cone was talking about how in 1998, they would have Homer Bush come in and pinch run late in the game and he was a great weapon because of his speed. You have to think that Gardener could do the same thing this year, and most likely will get called up in September (or briefly prior to that, if they want him on the playoff roster).

You don't want this headcase messing up chemistry. What if a player cuts him off, is he going to challenge him to a fight? I mean really, someone 'cut' him off and he wants to fight him?!!

Also re: Wang I recall seeing him pitch a minor league game vs the soxs, he was doing pretty well, than I think he rolled his ankle.

This may seem like a stupid question, but what do the Yankees do with all their signee's each year? What I mean is, they drafted 51 players, and have signed 24 of them so far. Where do they all go? In other sports, there are far fewer drafted players, so finding spots for 1-2 players in the NBA, or 4-5 in the NFL, is easy. In Hockey you control rights, and have juniors, college, and the minor leagues. What do pro teams do with 51 drafted players? Obviously some don't sign, but 24 already have. That's an entire team in and of itself. I've always wondered how they accomodate, and allocate, so many draftee's.

Brandon - I agree with you. I’m just trying to figure out what the motivation for making such a statement public could have been. So, I’m thinking, either he’s trying to show how he’s different, or he’s just not too savvy in the PR arena.

Definitely not too savvy, he's well spoken but not a smart man.
