Girardi has made a number of bad calls this season that has cost games. Its at least 4 games, though by my count a closer one would make it 5, but lets give him the benefit of a doubt. Last year NoM... had been keeping track of games that Torre blew for making bad calls. It was 7 for the whole season.

Those 4 games would have the Yankees above the Rays right now and one game back of the Sox. Last year the Yankees finished out behind the Sox in the division, yet had it not been for games lost by poor managing of the game, the Yankees would have had the division, and who knows if that would have made a difference to the whole post season.

What will these 4 or 5 games mean at the end of this season? Who knows, but I'd rather have that cushion, wouldn't you?

well, that (his high level of inexperience) and the fact that Cabrera was previously 2-2 against Mussina and solidified his state of domination by going 4-4 before leaving with an injury. it really isn't rocket science.

remember Enrique Wilson? yeah, journeyman. remember when he used to occasionally rock Pedro? some bench players have actual EXPERIENCE and can hit well against a certain pitcher (Cabrera's stats against Mussina are now 5 for 7 lifetime). Cabrera is in the lineup hitting 2nd for a reason tonight.

if you want to know who is correct in this situation, simply look at the result. it’s laughable trying to defend a mistake that has already occurred

Am I the only one sane to understand if the ball doesn't get in the lights no one is saying a damn thing ?

Jesus lets see according to people because it already happened and the kid is 21 yrs. old this is why they should have pitched to Bruce, who's Monday QB'ing now ...

Brandon, yes. not every pitcher in baseball is the same. Bruce showed no signs of completely owning Mussina at all (as evidenced by his 2 Ks, one prior to the at bat), while Cabrera has.

Nick, I thought the gluttons were like the third circle? But maybe it's the fifth. I just know I'd be in the first one.

I think that's the nightly matchup in the fifth circle of hell.

Don't know for sure but it seems that Manny being Manny means never being clutch. Dude seems to be really good except when it really counts.

Course I could have that wrong. I don't pay a lot of attention to what goes on with them.
