Richie Sexson this year against LHP:
.360 .421 .580 1.001

Yeah, no good at all.

Oh and Betemit:
.263 .263 .421 .684

Richie Sexson is playing full time how about the numbers of game in contrast to those numbers why don't you bother to post that ?

Since we're going to get technical here, lets go w/ LD % and K %

Richie Sexson overall has a 32.7 K % and a 19.5 LD % rate

Wilson Betemit overall has a 27.7 K % and a 29.2 LD % rate

What does that tell you ? It tells you contact and per AB wise Wilson Betemit not only strikes out less but he also hit the ball harder, nearly 30 % which at one point he had a 34 % LD rate this season of the balls hit he hits are hard outs.

What’s with all the racial talk in here? It’s really inappropriate for a baseball site. I agree with Rob, I have noticed Francis always making a big deal about it before and it’s offensive. You can’t just make racist jokes and say “oh they’re just jokes, don’t be offended.” It’s racist and couching it in terms of a joke doesn’t make it better or less inappropriate for this site. That may fly at a nightclub somewhere, but it has no place here."

Thanks Anthony,

That was very well said and the point that I was trying to make.

I think their only option is to release him if they want the roster spot and to shake things up. I think any team that traded for him or claimed him off waivers would have to pay his salary, which no one would agree to do.

He can't hit for average at all anymore, but he still does have some power from the right side and has to be no worse than Betemit playing first and batting righty.

I think they'd give him a look, he could be useful as a right handed bat. He's got good numbers against lefties.

Maybe they could give everyone who has field seats a helmet with a facemask. Not only would it help shield you from bat fragments but you could also leave it on if a fight breaks out like a certain PUNK catcher did.
