At least it is celebrating two great things in our country independence and baseball.

I would be proud to wear the Hat. Its for charity and people should stop their crying.

There are plenty of americans who don’t even have the courtesy to respect the flag and what it stands for

I like the interlocking NY American flag, but is all the stuff on the bill part of the hat or is it a label? Cause that part is very busy looking. If the hat is just the interlocking American flag NY, then it’s okay. I don’t really have a problem with it, it is for charity.

Do you think that hat honors or respects our veterans our flag or ideals in any way, shape or form? I sure don’t.

Why not an actual American Flag on the brim with a cut line “God Bless the USA” or “God Bless Our Troops”?

That would be respectful. This is just something so tacky they wouldn’t sell it at a Liberace Museum.

Personally I think ALL commercial uses of the flag are distasteful. If baseball wants to support our veterans, great! It’s a mega-billion dollar industry and they can write a huge check without resorting to crap like this.

I tend to agree with you, Mike, but Wikipedia reports that the above is a violation as well.

When I think of the flag, I think of the actual flag and not the small ones with the wood sticks we got as kids or something that resembles the flag. I guess I was wrong.

I don’t see the hat as disrespectful, but what about the Rock the Vote ad that Christina Aguilera did with her baby wrapped in a flag?

I still don’t see messing with the NY logo. Just leave it as it is.
