2 SS’s. wonder how long it will take for people on here to say we should release Jeter now…….

  3. Chris NY

I’m afraid to try and pronounce that first guy’s name. Hope he makes it to the bigs so Steve Phillips has to.

  4. William Buckner

I can’t wait to see these guys!!! In 2014.

    Who?

Mike Jones played yesterday. It’s funny that they would just mention his signing today.

So John Sterling has five years to come up with a homerun call for Yeicok Calderon.

He’ll need every minute he can get.

  8. Shant

    That Mike Jones???

Back then hoes didn’t want me, now they all up on me.

You realize they’re 16 right? By the time they get ready to play in the majors, if they ever do, it would probably be 5 or 6 years from now. Jeter is 34. Do the math.

  11. Jeremy

That is the oddest trio of baseball names I have ever seen.

Another website is reporting the following Latin American signings for the Yankees:

    C Jackson Valera (Venezuela)
    OF Ramon Flores (Venezuela)
    OF Yeico Calderon
    SS Anderson Felix
    SS Giancarlo Arias

  13. crawdaddie

The Venezuelan kids are currently at the Yankee complex in the Dominican. As soon as they get back to Venezuela they will sign their contracts to make it official.

Makes sense to sign some bats. They have drafted so many pitchers in the last couple years, they need to even things out or teach a bunch of pitchers how to hit.

  15. CharlesSDutton

They also signed Darryl Hannah today. Hank apparently wanted to make a splash.

  16. nyyfaninlaaland

Scott Boras – you never did demonstrate a sense of humor. Clearly he was kidding about yesterday’s Jeter discussion you may have missed.

  17. nyyfaninlaaland

By the way, Brandon. You’ve gotta be here somewhere if we’re talking int’l signings.

Had an overlong comment late on the last string re the trade deadline prospect discussion in reply to you. I like your comments here, thought you were getting on my nerves a bit in that string. I won’t bore all here with a rehash.

And I was very serious about you and SJ starting a Tampa blog – or something prospect oriented and even broader in scope. It’d be great.

  18. Money Blanket

god i hope i get to hear michael kay say “Yeicok” someday
