Hurry up and get Karstens up to the bigs so that he can stink it up and get sent back down or to the DL ala Chris Snyder.

By then maybe they’ll be ready to call up the greatness that is Alfedo Aceves!

….and i’m going to have to start my daily neck exercises in order to avoid whiplash from all the fly balls Karstens gives up.

i’m willing to give Tabata time, but this has NOT been a good year for him.

Tabata is 19, gie him some time….progress is never straight up unless you are al kaline…..

Also, there hasn’t been a better time to move Melancon up to AAA. 13 pitchers in Trenton, and he’s had 5 days off. Plenty of roster spaces in AAA, and only 6 in the pen vs 8 in AA. Kennedy and Igawa starts are scheduled next. Igawa on 3 days rest after a 3 inning relief stint. IPK, in his first AAA start since starting his rehab assignment, hasn’t gone past 5 yet so he’ll still have a pitch count.

Karstens is knock knock knocking on the door to the restroom in the Scranton clubhouse.

He’s got minor league stuff. Nobody has the guts to tell it to him though because he’s a hero for taking a liner off his knee.

Brabdon -I saw your question about De La Rosa in the last string. SJ commented that it was due to rotation injuries – also promos of McAllister and Stephens to Tampa. He’s likely to remain in the mix for a bit as Betances rehab is continuing (Monday 2+ poor innings in GC) and now Olbrychowski hit the DL. In fact The ‘Dogs need another starter beyond DLR unless Betes comes up on Friday on short rest.

Personally I think it’s time they also swapped Lance Pendleton with Ivan Nova in Tampa. Gotta push Pendleton who’s been very good up to his last outing and at 24 is just too old for his level (due to past injuries), and Nova’s just been very inconsistent. But perhaps keeping him under a watchful eye in Tampa is good too.
