When is Pujos eligible for free agency ???? Playing in the NL does favor him, however I never came out and said either was better than the other,,,,,Opportunity favors Texeria, besides it is early in their carreres, although Albert has a three year headstart……THIS IS AN OPPORTUNITY THAT THE Yanks will not pass on…..A 500 hr hitting Switch hitting 1B……THAT’S MY CASE GENTLEMEN….

It doesn’t matter if he is a switch hitter just read his splits he’s not better than Albert Pujols in anyway.

Nobody is going to argue that Teixeira isn’t a valuable guy to have on the team. But trying to say he is better than Pujols is absurd.

Given the three year head start does make the career numbers unjust…..My point is for the evening is that he’s a switch hitter, and he’s a free agent…..Eddie Murray was the last player with that pedigree……

Teixeira has Chipper Jones batting in front of him and McCann batting behind him right now. That is a pretty darn ideal spot to be in, yet he hasn’t having a special season by any means. So plugging him in front of ARod isn’t going to change him into Superman.

What the heck is your obsession with the guy being a switch hitter as some huge advantage?

Pujols career vs LHP: .345/.448/.643
Pujols career vs RHP: .329/.415/.613

Teixeira career vs LHP: .303/.385/.538
Teixeira career vs RHP: .277/.366/.532

Pujols, batting from the same side, is much much much better than Mark Teixeira batting from either side. it’s not even close. That completely nullifies his “switch-hitting value” when comparing him to Pujols.

The bottom line is that Teixeira is very good. But Pujols will go down as one of the greatest hitters of all-time. You are clearly fighting a losing battle here.
