'Wave 'em in' is a nice nickname. But i disagree with your proposition, Pete. You probably lose more games because of not waving in the runner. If A-Rod comes to the plate, strikes out again, everybody - probably including you - would ask why Meacham did not wave in Jeter.

Think of Giambi vs. Boston on saturday. Meacham then of course won the game with his decision to wave Giambi in.

Chamblis was a very good hitting coach, had us fighting pitch by pitch, Rick Down changed that and he was blamed by Steinbrenner for losing in 2001, I think that year he was fired. 6 years later Down helped the Mets get to the NLCS. Funny how things work, I don’t know what to say about Long, he leaves me wondering too much.

Brandon you don't know what you're talking about. Gary Denbo was the hitting coach in 2001.

"Is he? Didnt know that. I had heard he was decent today, but nothing special. Guess I heard bad info"

Have to keep in mind that the guys the Yanks have starting in AA/AAA are decent but nothing special. Gallagher is not a likely #1, but at 22 years old he has functioned as an MLB average low end of the rotation type and has upside beyond that.

Assets: Has great stuff and can rack up strikeouts with relative ease. Is well suited for short relief, but can also start if needed.

Flaws: Is still a little too wild for a short relief role, and he needs to improve his command in order to maximize his big-league potential.

Career potential: A late-inning reliever or mid-rotation starter.

They had compared him to Jake Peavey. Kid is still a bit wild but definitely has the stuff.

The Yankee offense is going to have some big issues with scoring as Molina gets more and more at bats. The trio of Gardner/Melky/Molina everyday is pretty pathetic. But unfortunately I guess Jorge's shoulder just isn't good enough to catch that much. Hopefully Damon will be back soon after the break.

Hopefully Molina again against the speedy Rays - Ponson pitching so I would assume more baserunners then we saw today against Pettitte. I would guess Giambi at 1st, Posada DHing, and Molina behind the dish.

I heard Molina would again because of Tampas running, and Posada would catch against Pitts and Toronto
