Jose Molina cannot play every day. He is an automatic out. There's a reason he's a backup catcher.

From what Jorge says, he is able to catch. If he is able, he needs to be in there. I don't care how many runners Molina throws out. It does not make up for a .574 OPS.

By comparison, the Red Sox don't have one player in the top 20. Don't know how teams rank, though. Don't know that the Yankees are no 1, but they must be pretty high.

Offense is definitely down around baseball.
Last I checked, no team was on pace fo 875 runs.

Make no mistake, it's not JUST RISP. The team slugging is off way more than the OBP.
They are clearly down in OPS, but not enough to be as low as they are in runs. That's the situational hitting.

Rodriguez should have at least 15 more RBIs this year. And that's just situationally hitting on par with his overall hitting.

It's not everyone either. Cano, Matsui, Jeter, Abreu, Posada and Damon are all about the same or better average wise with RISP.
Rodriguez and Giambi have huge dropoffs. Cabrera, Molina and Betemit are clearly lower as well.

The 2 worst with a runner on third and less than 2 outs are Arod and Abreu. It seems to me that they are very poor as a team, but I don't know where they rank as a team. Maybe it's just my perception and they are not as bad as it seems to me.

Jeter is a concern, IMO. Not a concern in that I think he's done, but his overall stats are way down. Hey, I'm all for looking at situational hitting, but his overall OBP and OPS were way down. Metrics say his defense has been better, though.

My first choice would still be another starter. Maybe I'm too stubborn, but I keep thinking of the track records. They should be much better offensively. Mind you, I'm speaking if Matsui comes back and Posada can catch more often. Take those 2 away and I' more inclined to looking for a hitter as well.

The future is bright, but 2008 is over.

The Yankees will never say that but I think they know it. Cashman has done nothing to improve this team, and I can't say I want him to, not if it hurts the farm system.

Forget Sexson, forget Marte, forget every big name you can think of. Its not gonna happen.

I hope they trade some guys. Maybe Abreu. Maybe Farnsworth. If Damon and Matsui didn't get hurt I'd trade one of them. Both were having great years.

Sometimes you have to know when to throw in the towel. I've watched a lot of baseball in my time, and this team is nothing special. It has a lot of holes, weaknesses.

This team can't make one trade or waiver acquisition that will fix their problems. Sometimes it just isn't your year. That time is now.

All you guys want the Yankees to bring in more talent, make trades to bring in a bat, a reliever.

You're all delusional. If I'm Cashman I'm selling and selling big time. This team will not make the playoffs this year. This isn't 1998. And it isn't last year either.

This team cannot hit. There are 3-4 teams ahead in the wildcard and 2 in the division. They are not one player away, they are about a half a team away from contending.

The string of playoff appearances will end, and this just shows what an accomplishment it was to make it all those years.

The injuries absolutely killed the team this year. In the past, they were able to recover. Not this year, too much has gone wrong.

3/5ths of the starting rotation = injured.
5 top notch position players missing sgnificant time.
No one having career years.

I have watched every single game this year. I love this team but they are not any good. They are average. Its pathetic but true.

Who do we bring up or trade for to replace Betemit as a multi-positional sub?

Man Bet is a weird case, he hits the ball hard for outs more than in play hits and strikes out a bit too much, IDK there is Ransom but damn I mean he may not be any better I guess that multi-position player right now isn't on this roster.
