Home Run Derby about to get started

July
14

3 Doors Down just played two songs. Now Chris Berman is introducing the Home Run Derby contestants.

Forget to mention this before, but good job by David Ortiz today. He’s injured, but showed up for the press conference and was in uniform for BP. I’m told Big Papi has some business interests in New York this week. But he didn’t have to take part in the official business. He’s a good ambassador for the game. Guys like he and Derek Jeter and Chipper Jones really get it.

It’s a beautiful night at the park. Back in a bit with the Derby live blog.

uh oh, Jeter just was introduced to Erin Andrews. Can you say celebrity coupling?

Did anyone catch Chase Utley’s “oops” during his introduction? I guess he didn’t realize that the camera filming him had a microphone. He heard some boos, and responded “Boo? (bad word) you!”

    Classy….
