It's why this Yankees team is struggling... their OBP is top five, but their RISP is crapola... Barry Bonds' phenomenal on base percentage did't lead to a lot of wins. He cited that 22 of the 26 titles were won when the regular season ended and the AL team with the best regular season record faced the NL for the whole pie. Once the 3 tiered playoff system started in '95 with the addition of a Wild Card team, it made things all that more difficult. We may never see a three-peat again and in fact, no team has repeated since 2000. player more than a contract year just look at giambi,mussina.i know their are many players that you can name that still stink in a contract year but as i said you can only benefit from this move so that makes it worth it.the yankees have to start considering packaging some of their prospects for an ace or they must sign an ace in the offseason.they are very close to building a great team for many years if you can see through the smoke.they have joba,hughes,kennedy,tabata,jackson,brackman,betances,sanchez,cox,melancon,horne,mcutchen,montero,romine,cervelli,heredia,acevez.i just named the good ones.montero is a monster catcher with 80 power on a 20-80 scale,brackman was neck and neck for going number one in the draft with price before his injury and is working his way back.if they can get weeks or cc then in 2009 they can have cc,wang,joba going 1-2-3,pettitte will probably be brought back as the number 4 and maybe hughes as the 5th or moose or someone else.the bottom line is that
