Bad job outta these guys for not showing up. If 89 year old Bob Feller and a barely able to walk Willie McCovey can show up, so should the rest. I understand some of these guys may have serious health problems in their old age, but if they don't then there is no excuse. I am particularly disappointed in Koufax, Ryan, Bench, and Yaz.

Morgan was indeed in the parade and then with the SNY guys at an event on the day following the ASG (David Wright was there) so clearly he had a previous engagement. I actually heard Morgan say he was sorry he never got to wear the pinstripes and that George once called him and asked him if he wanted to be a Yankee - I had a hard time believing that since Willie did his job just fine but Morgan was just being Morgan, I guess.

Anybody who listened to Morgan work the '98 ALCS for NBC and heard him constantly talking about how that Yankee team could not match up to the Big Red Mahine shouldn't be too surprised. Frankly I'm glad he didn't desecrate the Stadium dirt by standing on it for that ceremony, no matter how good a player he was he's one of the worst things about being a baseball fan now. If there was ever a time and place for a piano to fall from the sky, it was when Phillips, Morgan, and Berman were sitting together at the HR Derby. I think ESPN put those 3 together on purpose just to test mute buttons across America.

Although it may be creepy, I like the idea of recording Mr. Sheppard's voice, so we could hear him forever. I am most disappointed with these guys not showing up because they have NY ties:

Sandy Koufax, Tom Seaver, Duke Snider

My blog is worth: $14,678.04

I heard from a reliable source that Duke Snider isn't doing well. Doerr will be 90. Musial 88. Amazing that Feller, who will be 90 was there. Schoendienst is in his upper 80s.

When the Yanks have the closing ceremony in November, they are hoping all living ex-Yankees can be there. It'll be interesting if Tommy Henrich (95) or Ralph Houk (89) are there.

My blog is worth a whopping $1,693.62. The sad part is that that's better than I expectes; I thought it would come out at about $0.99.

Yankee lover ...

Of all the names you mentioned at SWB, 4 or 5 are in any real plans for the Yankees. The rest will be throw ins to finish off a deal. The Yankees would have to eat some money for Igawa.
