almost every post is a negative one.you people complain as much or more when the yankees are winning.we just won 3 in a row,gained ground on the devil rays and boston and all i hear is complaining.you are as worse than the media,and that’s right i said devil rays.

rconn23 either someone’s being using your identity or you’re looking pretty foolish right now. The night of the All Star Game (I think) someone saying they were rconn23 posted something about home field advantage and how it wasn’t getting sewn up for the Red Sox in the world series. I thought it was a pretty stupid and pathetic statement since the Yankees weren’t anywhere near out of it.

Now I’m thinking it was an rconn23 troll! If it was really you please don’t think I’m calling you stupid and pathetic just the statement giving up on the Yankees.

Brandon – I really don’t get what goes through your mind.

Teams are not giving away LH relievers or 30 HR AAA’ers. You will have to overpay to get them. It’s not worth it.

The Farnsworth –> Thames thing would make sense, OTOH.

I would also like to see Holliday as a Yankee but I don’t want to give up too much to get him. I really think he’d hit 35 HRs with 100 RBIs every season with the Yankees. Put Cano between him and Arod and you have a powerhouse lineup.

Also, while I am thinking about it, the series next weekend against Boston might be a BIG series. The Yankees are within striking distance of Boston right now. Could be a crazy weekend in Bean Town

Here are reasons we won’t or shouldn’t go all out for Holliday:

Boras is his agent.
The Angels inquired and Colorado wanted Nick Adenhart top AAA pitcher, Howie Kendrick their starting second baseman, and either one of these two all-star pitchers- Ervin Santana, Joe Sanders.
He’s a FA after 2009 season, and Boras likes his stars to opt for FA, rather than sign an extension.

IMHO we won’t be getting Holliday, especially for just Hughes and Melky.

rconn23 there is no way trading the pieces that you are grade A for Holliday should even be discussed, listen is Holliday garbage ? no not really, one thing I know is Bradley is cheaper and they 2 years apart meanwhile 1 of them add OF defense and that’s not Matt.

Another option not being talked about is Nelson Cruz of Texas’s AAA team I hope the Yankees pay attention to his splits he is turning it on in AAA and would be a cheap get.

Check out Bradley’s splits, they are crazier than Holliday’s. Bradley has a 1.263 OPS at home versus a .845 OPS on the road. Bradley also plays at a launching pad.

It’s also important to remember that Holliday plays the majority of his away games in pitcher-friendly parks – Petco, Dodger Stadium, Bank One.

Bradley is a fine hitter, but he’s never been close to this good – ever. If you can get him at the trade deadline for not much, then OK. But his value will never, ever be this high.

Holliday is a stud, has been for a few years now.

I’ll take the guy who has the proven track record every time.
