IPK: Don’t forget about me!

July
24

Ian Kennedy is an inning away from a seven-inning no-hitter for AAA Scranton.

He has six strikeouts and no walks. Two runners have reached on errors. It’s the second game of a doubleheader.

    Awesome.

  2. Someone Else

Always sucks when there’s no hits or walks, but there are errors :-(

  3. Buddy Biancalana

    Go IPK!

  4. Jake

Nice, that ought to boost his trade value at least a little bit.

  5. ams223

always sucks when people mention it outright

  6. Someone Else

Wow, that team needs to learn how to field; three errors now.

  7. Brandon (R.I.P. Pablo Martinez) (Johan HR count: *17)

PICK UP THAT TRADE VALUE ! :D

  8. Melissa

Ah, good to know he’s doing well.

  9. Tank

Excellent news, Trade deadline one week away.

Just the fact that we are heavily after Washburn shows us what the organization thinks about him.

Keep the Gold like Hughes, Montero, Jackson, Cano, Joba, Melancon, Brackman

Trade the Silver like IPK, McCutchen, Melky, Gardner, Miranda, Cox, Curtis, Carson etc.

  10. Dutchman

    gave up a hit…now 1-1

  14. ams223

amazing right after the thread was started

  15. Someone Else

Wow, wow, wow. FOUR errors from that team. Wow.

  16. drillmiiister

great job by IPK i would like to see him instead of rasner cause his confidence is up right now i mean thats what happened last year when he was dominating minors he had confidence in his stuff but this year one bad outing left his confidence done..

  17. tim boat

Kennedy’s worth another shot, in the long run he’s gotta be better than Rasner/Ponson.

  18. Jorge Steinbrenner

Good to see us not rushing Ian. After a couple of outings in the majors at the end of last year, we thought he was going to be gold this year, but he wasn’t. He still went from single-A to the majors in a span of a year. Now we can slow him down and give him a better chance the second time around. No reason to give up on him…

…unless Roy Halladay’s available. for him, i’d trade my dear ol’ grandma. ;)

    Four errors?

    That’s nothing. Check this out

I’d like to see IPK perform well with us again – he didn’t do so well when he came up early in the season, but that’s because he’s injured. Having followed him for a good part of last year and this year, I guess I’m somewhat attached.

  21. 27 this year

Roy Halladay is being shopped around a little according to mlbtraderumors.com mostly because the Blue Jays realize how much they can get for a guy like him. The only thing is that Halladay is their franchise face so they probably wont trade him and if by some reason they do, it will be far, far, away from the AL East

  22. Steve

If they brought up IPK, Rasner’s next scheduled start is against the Orioles, and the one after that is against the light hitting Angels. O’s are middle of the pack in the AL Runs for scored, Angels are bottom 1/3.

Its as good a time as any.

  23. Steve

I don’t know how many more the Yanks will want to see, but I hope IPK gets another crack at the rotation. Guys who command 4 pitches don’t grow on trees, he just needed to get used to the bigs. In all honestly, I thought he was pitching scared and Hughes was just trying too hard. If they stick with him, eventually he should get over that. He won’t be much worse than Rasner’s been lately.

  24. Someone Else

I don’t relegate Ponson or Rasner to the bullpen until they -lose- their jobs. Neither has pitched poorly enough to do so yet. There ain’t no sending to AAA for either – if you don’t want them on the 25 man, you have to DFA them (and Rasner won’t clear waivers to be outrighted to AAA).

    Trade Bait.
