BRAVO to joba

he wanted to face the best, and today he did and dominated

as for bos's "ace", he performed well, but not as good as joba

great job by joba & mo

also BRAVO to cashman: marte was the most wanted reliever in the market, nady was one of the most wanted hitters in the market (i believe holliday & bay will remain with their teams -- leaving texeira at the top)

we get both, and give no top prospects. tabata has shown promise but is a couple years at least from even a chance at the big show, ohlendorf has been effective at times, coke was moving fast but who knows, kontos is also still unproven.

even the peeps bashing cashman must give props here.

What a day. What a game. Pitching. Defense. And the front office doing their part.

If you don't like this deal I don't know what to say.

1. Some may have their doubts about Nady, but we are getting him during a CAREER YEAR. Don't forget this guy had surgery... he's only 29. We may actually have traded for a guy about to enter his prime. Marte... I don't even have to explain him.

2. Tabata is the only one that stings. I saw someone say Cashman traded him high... he's out for the season! His stock is falling bigtime. He's got a ton of upside, but so does Austin Jackson. Don't be too upset about Tabata, and if you are, get acquainted with KEVIN DELEON.

3. Kontos had the best upside of the three pitchers IMO. He could be a solid mid-rotation starter. The jury is out on Phil Coke who is pitching very well as a 26-year-old in AA. The Yankees must have sold Ohlendorf as a starter. I was wondering why he was starting in AAA. I think we all know, however, that he's best served as a reliever.

Bob

My opinion is that Melky is not going to Seattle. The Washburn talks are only wrt to salary dump, in other words the Yankees will take on salary but not give anything up and despite Melky's offensive woes, defensively he plays a good CF, except when saluting the bleacher creatures.
