How good has Yankee pitching been?

Since the ASB, Yankee pitching--total, including starters and hawkins--has a K/BB ratio above five.

No other team is over 3.5.

the WHIP is also down to 1.07--only Milwaukee's has been lower.

My take.. great trade... The only 1 that may come back to haunt the Yanks big time is Tabata. He i 19, so who knows if he will be the next Willie Mays or Drew henson..

Good trade... Nady is a very serviceable OF, he is only 29 and under control.. The Yanks actually almost have a bench.. Marte is a good lefty and he is under control for next yr, but at a big price..

Please Hawkins deserves to go...

I can't believe the Yankees traded away Phil Franchise!

... I'm referring to Phil Coke, of course.

(By the way, who is Phil Coke?)

LOL @ Cashman:

(re: Joba as a starter)

“This is what we were going to do, and we did it,” General Manager Brian Cashman said. “Glad to see everybody getting on the bandwagon.”

The difference is this: Gardner is young and has a chance to hit enough to be a good 4th outfielder, if not a starter. Best to give him lots of AAA ABs and let him show his stuff.

Christian's got great speed and much less of a future. He's also a nice option against lefties, even with Nady. Christian used to be an infielder, so he might even be used there.

Thanks guys for the Joba info he outpitched the Sox Ace at Fenway that says something about him. I saw the highlights his breaking stuff looked filthy. I am excited about the trade too it seems like all the pieces are coming together and Cashman gets a big time reprieve for any past decisions for getting the deal done. Giving up Tabata is crappy but they get back a lefty under control next year and a solid righty bat. I am very pleased.
