  1. Someone Else

HAVE to take 2/3. Hoping for a sweep.

Tonight is one of the more important games of the second half – prove that the last 9 (well, 8 of the last 9) weren’t a fluke, and that there’s no Red Sox hangover.

  2. Rob (the original)

YES!!!!!! I”m going to see Joba start on Wed!!!!!

  3. AlexCT

moose could actually get 20 wins this season… nuts.

  4. Brandon (RISP still a problem) (Johan HR count: *18) (X-factor my ***)

Rasner vs the Baltimore offense :(

Joba matched up w/ the lefty is a good heads up decision by G.I. Joe

  5. sunny615

    smell sweep

  6. Timothy Clougher

I can smell the Division lead, Boston vs Halo’s, Tampa on the road….

  7. Andrew

Rasner is auditioning for his new role as staff ace for Scranton/Wilkes Barre’s playoff run.

  8. EB

    Win, Loss, Win

  9. Timothy Clougher

    I say the offense come’s thru..SWEEP…

  10. Fredo Corleone

“Joba matched up w/ the lefty is a good heads up decision by G.I. Joe”

It’s his turn in the rotation.

  11. TKinDC

Cabrerra is a total Jekyl and Hyde pitcher.  Hopefully we catch him on a ‘wild’ day and spank him.

He’s been really bad the last two starts.

  12. Timothy Clougher

    Maybe Moose, Wash, Joba…

  13. Rebecca--Optimist Prime-Mo for Cy Young 08

Would rather have Rasner matched up against Daniel Cabrera than anyone else.

  14. Fredo Corleone

    “Maybe Moose, Wash, Joba…”

    Washburn pitched yesterday Tim.

  15. Timothy Clougher

    Fredo Corleone:

    Sorry forgot..

  16. Andrew

Cabrera usually saves his better performances for the Yankees and the Bronx, though. Two out of three is fine with me–keep winning series should be the goal.

  17. Timothy Clougher

Hey Tampa has Burnette and Roy in Toronto…
Boston has the Halo’s..we need to sweep…

  18. justin

Tonight is a big game. Guthrie is their best starter

  19. JR Yankees

Let’s just keep playing heads up baseball like we have been. Hitting with RISP and good pitching gave us an 8 game win streak.

Notice that last night we had neither of those going for us and we suffered a lopsided loss. I would not have minded losing the game had we continued doing what we’ve been doing, but we jsut weren’t there last night.

I was dissatisfied with how poorly we did with runners in scoring position. Arod led off an inning with a double in the 3rd(?) and then the whole bases juiced, no outs, and 2 runs already in and we do nothing but let Lester off the hook.

I realize you cannot win them all, but we can and should play solid baseball the rest of the way. Let’s start another win streak tonight and get into postition to take over the division lead.

  20. Fredo Corleone

“Boston has the Halo’s..we need to sweep…”

Halos historically struggle in Boston. Lackey would rather eat his own liver than pitch in Fenway. Still, they did win two in Boston earlier this year.

  21. bigjf

Expecting 2 out of 3, almost need the sweep though. Rough schedule up ahead.

  22. raymagnetic â„¢

“It’s his turn in the rotation.”

Semantics. GI Joe is a genius. Admit it Fredo.

  23. Andrew

Plus Lackey says he’s now going through his annual “dead-arm” period (7.61 ERA, 36 H in last 23.2 IP)–can’t bode well for him pitching to Ortiz and Ramirez in Fenway.

  24. Don Vito A. Bellamo

I would say SWEEP is the word of the day !

  25. saucY

so does anyone throw at an oriole to retaliate over cabrera hitting jeter? or are we over that ;)

  26. Bostowned

Nady and Marte will be the trade most talked about in the offseason, as referring to some genius moves made this year by Cashman. He stole those guys from Pittsburgh and in a few days, he’ll steal Washburn from Seattle. The season is changing, Im liking our chances more and more. Our Bullpen is unhittable, Moose is a potential 20 game winner, Joba is damned near untouchable, and lets not forget that we may get Wang back in Sept. Making a possible playoff rotation of Mussina, Pettite, Wang, Joba, Washburn…..holy poop!

O’s = next step turns 1st place. Im actually rooting for Toronto tonight!

  27. Bart

The way the Yankees hit these guys — we are gonna need – two 1-0 games (hope that I am jinxing the O’s)

Rasner has no chance and should not be pitching — we have to suffer another week of Rasner and Ponson

good thing the games are at the Stadium

  28. bodhisattva

Ras and Sid are not long term answers, but Sid has pitched decently for us overall and Ras had one of his best outings vs. Minny. Would prefer, however, to see Aceves promoted, despite his recent struggles. I’d also like to see Kennedy back in the mix soon.

  29. J

    It’s a wrong arrange.
They should give Mussina one more day off, rather than give Rasner six days off.
