g, try reaqding what was said before that lead to that remark. If Wakefield is allowed to have a bad game, why isn't Ponson?

When a players is DFA the team still has ten days to move him to another team. the Yankees still control Hawkins and could use his contract to offset a contract they are picking up if they find a willing partner.

I'm sure Seattle tried to get the Yanks to give up something for Sexson, but with his contract there was no chance at all. Hawkins is owed about $ 1.3 M so it's not out of the question.

GreenBeret7:
"Blah, if it was the case that Wakefield is such a good pitcher, he shouldn’t have gotten knocked around on Saturday like he was, oh, I don’t know, Sidney Ponson."

Really? Pitchers don't have bad games? Wang never got knocked around? Petitte? Beckett? Interesting logic.

Cano is not going to be traded any time soon. If the right deal came along in the offseason, you have to entertain it, but otherwise, what's the point?

Trade Hawkins!

What is everyone's thoughts on Nady so far? He's only got two games in and has probably never played in Fenway before, but he looked kind of crappy yesterday out in LF.

Here's a good one: if the Sox put Manny on waivers, the Yankees pick him up!!! hahahahaha. Doubt it. But don't be mistaken, you know Cashman will look into him in the offsaeason.

"Yanks won’t let Cano go for pitching."

i think they'd have to get a guy who is front end and young in return, but i dont think Cano is completely untouchable.

i'd rather say its really, really, highly unlikely the Yankes would trade Cano for pitching.

"The only way they trade Canò for pitching is if they’re getting someone like Roy Halladay and Cliff Lee in return."

Tribe would probably do it. Jays wouldn't do it in a million years.
