Brutal loss. We make this horrible pitcher look good. The bottom of the order is a black hole.

"It sure is weird how Mo pitches differently when it’s not a save situation. It’s to the point where it’s not a quirk."

Ummm, nope. It's still just a small-sample size quirk.

Hey Stuart--get a life, brother. Who cares if they can't beat bad teams? Get into the playoffs by one game, and they don't play them.

The goal is to get a staff with an ERA less than 4, under your cost control for a great deal of time.

The question is which piece goes out the door in the efforts to get another solid starter. Mariners want Melancon--not a chance in hell.

Perhaps they will take Betemit? But gee, how much has Betemit played in the past six weeks? Maybe 25-50 AB or so? So let's play him during the trade deadline week, right, especially when a few people could use as rest? Why else play a .246 hitter when you specfically obtained Richie Sexson (a .300 hitter against lefties this year) for this reason. Nothing else (to me) makes sense.

If you follow the Yankees closely (which based on some of your comments over the past day or so isn't quite clear) you would remember that Betemit was obtained from the Dodgers for Scott Protcor. At the time, multiple GMs were slathering all over him, and they still apparently do (according to an interview with Cashman earlier this year).

So before you start calling people morons, perhaps you can learn a little baseball and follow the team a bit more closely.

all im saying is that i was accused of lying today and i just proved that rosenthal has floated greinke trade rumors in the past. is it that crazy he would do it again the day before the deadline? come on. im a laywer for christ sakes…

No. But the crazy thing is that no one else seems to have heard this "rumor" today. If I'm mistaken I apologize, but did anyone else actually hear what you heard today. Is the rumor even posted in that wacky mlbrumors site? Anything?

"Ponson should just be waived he tinks and always will stink he is over 30 at least Rasner is 27 and he is decent…"

I would give Ponson one more shot, then see what we've got before you DFA him. I definitely agree with you about Rasner, he is still young and will improve.

Betemit, Molina, and Melky are killing us right now, but who else does Joe have to take their place? None that I know of. Joe's stuck with what he has and will just have to do the best with what he has. I say he's done a heck of a job considering how many injuries we've had and how many guys are not contributing this year.

Doris, remind me to never use you is if I'm in trouble with the law. How good could you be if you can troll sports boards every day and night. You must have a client list that consists of family members only.

arod and abreu the only consistent players in the lineup.. abreu is hitting 280. that is far from terrible but not great. arod has been terrible with RISP... I am done reciting the offensive woes, I am a broken record the offense has not produced.. Look at the STATISTICS, THEY ARE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD IN OFFENSE.. THEY do not give you runs for reputation.. They are #1 in reputation but about 15th in runs scored.........
