I've been a Yankee fan my entire life, but I have to be honest. After what they did to Torre last year, then so blatantly lied about it afterward to anyone who was dumb enough to listen (myself included), I can't even watch the game. The Yankees are such a unique, sensitive team, and when the little problems start happening down the wire, when Torre knew how to deal with it, Girardi won't, and the Yankees will self destruct down the road. You watch.

G.Love you are just plain wrong, Kennedy went 6 innings, his only shortcoming in his start last night was 3 walks--otherwise, 3 hits and 5 Ks with 1 run allowed. That's his third straight start with a similar line. Calls for him to be in the rotation are not a matter of overhyping, it's about looking at his value in comparison to that of Sidney Ponson. You are delusional if you think Ponson is somehow a better option at this point because he might, once in a while get into the 6th inning. That argument has some kind of weight if you ignore every other aspect of his pitching, like giving up a ton of base runners and pretty much being about to implode at any moment on the mound, and pitching to a 6+ ERA while a member of the Yankees.

Not hitting Sexson is inexcusably bad managing.

VS LHP---- Betemit 8-35 .229 2 HR 3 RBI

           Sexson 23-70 .329 5 HR 14 RBI

Not even debateable. Sure, if you tie it A-Rod has to play 3B and you lose the DH, but it beats the hell out of letting that clown bat right handed in a key situation.

It's nice to have switch hitters, but when they (melky too) are both so weak as RH hitters it really doesn't help much.

Someone ripped on giving up HR to guys like Huff, Millar and Guillen. Those are exactly the kind of non-star, veteren, "professional" hitters the Yanks used to have.

Betemit is a waste of a roster spot - a colossal joke. Not a fit on this Yankee team. Solid DFA candidate.

Betemit is a decent LEFTY hitter. Not a great glove but a GREAT hitter for a utility infielder.Allows them to free up a roster space and keep A Gon in AAA.Problem is he never shouldve hit in that spot.Sexson should have and if not Sexson shouldnt be on the roster.Girardi has a man crush on Betemit, thinks he is better than he is.

Yeah his at-bat in the ninth was really lousy. The main problem in the lineup is that Girardi can't figure out that Giambi can't bat 5th. He is killing the team over and over again in big spots recently. Cano needs to be in that spot.

Kennedy did not pitch great. He lasted 5 innings.

You want round 2 of him barely making it out of the 3rd? At least Rasner and Ponson can get it to the 6th once in awhile.

Stop overhyping Kennedy. Generation Trey is a myth people.

It's Generation Joba.

Everyone else is still not ready for primetime.

I actually heard some Yankee officials believed their acquiring Betemit would be comparable to the Red Sox acquiring Ortiz a few years back. It's really amusing that people who get paid so much money can be more delusional than fans sometimes.
