The team ERA with him catching is something like 3.5. With Moeller and Posada it's 4.6. That is not a coincidence. If the Yankees were to replace him with a good hit, lousy or even decent pitch-handler, they will be out of the race in 3 weeks. He's gotten terrific work from Mussina and Chamberlain and Pettite, and even though everyone is complaining how Ponson and Rasner have nothing, they've been credible too. The bullpen is better than it has been in years, and while some of that is new arms, a lot is Molina. As much as I love Jorge, when they get him back next year the team ERA will shoot back up.
