Cusick is a 2nd baseman with power and a some speed - he will compete with Sublett for this spot in Advanced A next year. I suspect he goes directly to Advanced A right now. 2) WE unloaded a player that was going nowhere instead of keeping him on the roster. 3) It shows the world we aren't messing around and we got a nice player for basically nothing. 4) It shows the Mariners that a quality lower level prospect is better than nothing and paying big bucks for it. Until those home runs in the 3rd inning and two outs, he had a no hitter going. Fenway is no place to pitch a rookie left hander with so little experience.
