Manny will be wearing pin stripes next year. If for no other reason, to get back at the Redsox. He is a guy that needs motiviation to play. What better motivation than getting back at a team that traded you.

Get rid of Giambi and put Manny at DH next year.

To add a Tigers Fan view point here - you guys have no idea what value you got for the Pudge/Farnsworth-less trade. We already had this bum Farnsworth in 2005. But Pudge is the greatest catcher to play the game in my generation.

Yes indeed - you upgraded from Posada to Pudge.

Great another scary pitcher in the Tigers freakshow we call a bullpen.

Stuart - I only mentioned the salary because of that comment about "loyalty." To me, the Yanks have too much of it and Sox could use a bit more. I really don't care about payrolls though, if you can afford it then why not spend it?

And I wouldn't say that all those guys left on bad terms. Manny would be the worse by far but that is because he has created this horrible situation. If he just shut up and played good baseball, this would be entirely different.

Oh and I read Mike Lowell's book in which he talked about his free agency. He pretty much said that while the idea of paying in NY was interesting (in a good way), he liked Boston way too much to leave. His agent was just trying to get better years and money from the Sox.

Wow, I never knew Millar was such an idiot. If Edwar doesn't have good stuff, then what kind of indictment is that of Millars skills? He should think before he says something like that, because he's career 1/4 off Edwar, with THREE strikeouts. According to Millar, it isn't very hard to get Millar out, being that a pitcher with "no out pitch" can strike him out at will.

Anyway, they should have a biggest cry baby award in baseball each year. I nominate Millar and Youk. It would be close, but with those quotes, Millar probably takes the prize, which is hard to believe.

“Anyone else want Bobby Abreu to stick around next year?”

Yes - as a DH and p/t right fielder... he brings so much to a game i.e. makes the pitcher work (essential when a pitcher is cruising thru a lineup)...
