I was looking at their stats this year and offensively they are very similar. Manny has a 142 OPS+ this year and Bay has a 137 OPS+. You take some points away to account for the transition to the AL, but then you add points because Bay is a better baserunner and is better on defense (-1 vs. Manny's -15 for run differential playing LF)...Boston might not be getting better, but they may also not be getting too much worse. Further, Bay would be staying with the Sox for an extra year, whereas Manny is guaranteed to be gone this winter. The Manny for Bay trade actually isn’t that bad for the Sox. Hey Angel,

I mentioned on an earlier thread that I was at the game last night. I know things can change but right now I really do think the Angels are the team to beat and are better than both the Sox and the Yankees. I will watch with a lot of interest this weekend to see how you guys do against the Angels.
