Simply hilarious.

I was at that game. It was a nice leap Roberts made for that ball but he had no chance. He’s a cute little fella, that Roberts.

    hahaha Tim.

Yeah I was watching that on MASN and was like….wait a minute….is he giving him the finger??? No no no, they would’ve cut away. Then I saw Giambi mouth “f u” (without saying f) to him and grinned and I knew it was true!!

You know I actually noticed that when I was watching the game. However, for some strange reason I thought he was signaling how many outs were in the inning. I guess I was wrong lol.

i was at the game on the 1st base side and stood there in shock when i seen it but it was hilarious that lil fairy tried to catch it

    it’s a photoshop :/

it’s pretty well known as a photoshop too kind of disappointing…

It’s the real deal, there was a game last year that Giambi hit into a ground out and as he turned first flipped the bird to the 2nd baseman…just keep an eye on him, he does it from time to time…

  8. Oscar Azocar July 31st, 2008 at 6:19 am

It doesn’t look like a photoshop at all (and how can it be well known if it just happened on Tuesday night?). I wonder if it had anything to do with ARod getting plunked the next inning.

I was TIVO-ing the game, saw Giambi flip off Roberts. I replayed it to make sure I saw it right the first time. I thought it was hilarious.
Roberts is always a pain in the butt to play against. People talk about Epstein being the personification of scrappy. But I think Roberts is that guy. He is very underrated.

    mister kottah, mistah kottah!

    That epstein?

It is so not Photoshop. I saw it in the YES broadcast when I was watching the game originally. I rewounding it five times, and yes, the Big G is flipping the bird. The Orioles first baseman thought it was pretty funny too.

Hey Big G, thanks for waiting to finally do this with 2 months to go on your contract. Might have even helped, say, during game 6 of the ALCS…

  13. Brandon July 31st, 2008 at 9:23 am

It’s definitely not photoshop. You have to use a video editing program like Final Cut, Combustion, or recreate his finger in Maya and even then you can’t make it look that real.

The judges would also have accepted a “I got your shift right here” crotch grab.

  15. Del From Hieroglyphics July 31st, 2008 at 10:03 am

Its certainly the real deal…I dont see how anyone watching that game on tv or at the park didnt see him clearly flip him the bird. On TV they showed it perfectly…and it it stood out because his batting glove was white.

  16. Don Capone July 31st, 2008 at 10:37 am

Yep, I noticed this on TV too. I think by getting a hit through the shift was FU enough, but it was still funny/shocking to see the Big G flipping the birds the bird.

Strange but it appears the Yankees and O’s like each other less than the Yankees and Red Sox do.

I can’t imagine Giambi flipping off the Sox. Nor can I imagine a Red Sox hitter disparaging Edwar Ramirez the way Millar did yesterday.

Incidentally, Millar’s scurrilous swipe at Edwar’s masculinity and his major league bona-fides warrants a response, even if it’s only verbal.

The Yankees and Red Sox appear to respect each other too much.

I can’t even imagine that meshugnah Youklis stooping that low.

guys, as funny as i think this is, i wonder why he isnt catching any slack from espn or anyone for this? if it was a-rod they would be tearing him apart. what do you guys think?
