"How do we replace that with Ponson,Giese,Molina.Thats the problem."

For each of your points, there's something better this year than last year.

Wang was healthy, but Mussina was garbage. Joba was in the pen, but now he's an ace in the rotation. Might have had a healthy Jorge, but now you have a hall of fame catcher who provides offense and great defense.

They aren't in any worse position this year than they were last year.

I'm not going to count this team out until they are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. It would be nice if we could somehow get through this road trip with a 5-5 record, and then take advantage of an easier stretch after that. We also play Boston and Tampa several more times, so if we stay close enough to them, you never know.

Ws at todays game too. Anyone blaming Pudge for the pitching is baseball stupid. Pudge is as knowledgable as any catcher in the game, he is a smart guy and future HOF.
Besides I doubt a hands on manager like Girardi is going let anyone create policy without being involved.
Yankees played good enough today against an ace, excpet for bullpen. Why did Girardi not use Marte????? Is Joe trying to say Edwar is better than Marte??
Jeters bunt??? great move, seeing as Jeter has been hiting into double plays, and you had Abreu and the greatest player of all time Arod coming up. IF the yankees could have switched the scoreboard to read 13-2 inatead of 3-2 on the scoreboard when Arod batted in that inning, Arod would have gotten a hit. But.....it was a close game so Arod Whiffed

The problem with this year then last to get to the playoffs:

1)We had a healthy Wang.

2)Joba in the pen (Yes Nick from SF there's a differance)

3)Pettitte's 6 wins in August.

4)A Healthy and hitting Jorge

5)Hughes and Kennedy were pitching great starting rotation.

How do we replace that with Ponson,Giese,Molina.Thats the problem.

If the Sox go 25-20 we will need 29-16 to tie them. This will be rough, especially with the sox having 25 left at Fenway.

Yanks need to get the job done at home, and get the job done vs Seattle, Toronto, Baltimore, and Kansas City in which the Yanks have a combined 21 games vs those teams.

Not sure why it is a big deal that Edwar said it is "a part of the game". He is right about that, afterall. It is a part of the game. He went a month without allowing a HIT, nevermind a run. Most relievers not named Mo are going to have their ups and downs during a season; Edwar has done a helluva lot more good than bad for this team this year.

Edwar didn't make a cocky comment. He didn't say anything remotely like what Ian Kennedy said. It's not like Edwar said, "Well, only one of the balls went over the fence" It's not like he was excusing his performance; he simply stated that sometimes you beat them, sometimes they beat you. And the Angels have definitely been the one team that Edwar gets crushed by. It's almost as if they know what's coming before he throws it.

Al from BK, I don't think you quite understand the situation the Yankees are in. They are FOUR games out of the wild card, and SEVEN out of the division. They can compete for both THIS year.

Didn't you watch this season? Aren't you aware that anyone can get hurt and you NEVER know what will happen? That's why you have to play for THIS year. THIS year you're in contention, you don't know about NEXT year.

Joba's coming back. His injury was never as bad as people here wanted to make it seem, and as long as his check up doesn't show anything bad, he'll be back before the months out, you can count on that.

You just don't get it. You can't just concede seasons where you're 4 games out with more than 40 to play. You truly don't know if you'll be in that position next year.

You would think that an outing like this might push Veras back in the pecking order for a few days to get over this outing.

But in reality, he probably moved UP the rankings because of Edwar's and Robertson's terrible performance, combined with Bruney's yesterday.

BTW, what has happened to Robertson lately? He has given up 11 runs in his last 4 outings. I would suggest sending him down, but there is nobody competent to replace him thats on the 40 man.

This New York Yankees team is a disgrace.

The Yankees USED to be a prideful team. They USED to carry themselves well. They USED to play with a passion that teams never did.

I don't think certain Yankees understand what it means when they put on those pinstripes. That isn't just a uniform. It's a tradition, it's a lifestyle. If you're a player, and you're lucky enough to dawn the Yankee blue... then you better sure as hell play with every single amount of energy and passion that you have.

I see guys like Melky Cabrera and Robinson Cano and I honestly, truthfully believe they don't understand what it is to put on the Yankees pinstripes.

Guys like Melk Cabrera do not deserve to be on this team. Being the starting center fielder for the NEW YORK YANKEES is a damn honor! Joe, Bernie, Micky... they knew that. They understood the honor. Melky Cabrera doesn't. He may be a decent glove... but that's it. He doesn't hit at all let alone hit for power. He has decent speed but looks like a fool on the base paths most of the time.

Then we have our captain... our CAPTAIN in the worst offensive slump he's had. The guy is a double play machine.

Then our highest paid baseball player is batting .232 in the clutch...

We have no pitching. Ian Kennedy has proved to be a monumental bust. Phil Hughes is young but seems to be the type who will get hurt with any little thing. Darrel Rasner is awful. Sideny Ponson is due to reform to his oldself.

This Yankee team needs to make a lot of changes. We need a legit centerfielder, a starting rotation that doesn't get hurt, and a first baseman.

This team's attitude needs to change.
