I have always contended that the Yankees are like a blue-chip stock and they a cyclical just like the stock market.Let's take a look at this. I was born in 1957 so I have to go from there. They won World Series titles in 58, 61, and 62. Then they went 13 years without a title...so it sucked for me as a kid following them...but I still remained a diehard fan. Then they went back to back in 77 and 78. Then, a 17 year drought followed by a title in 96, 98, 99, and 2000. If we don't win this year it will be 8 years again. If you average it all out the next time we will win a World Series will be in 2015. I call it my blue-chip theory for what it is worth. This team looked like they had NO CLUE tonight. And there was absolutely NO EXCUSE for Damon being out of the line-up tonight. I know the players on the field make the plays and swing the bats...but Girardi is REALLY starting to piss me off as a fan. I've seen this crap before over my lifetime as a Yankee fan. It's time Joe stops being everybody's "buddy" in that clubhouse and starts to manage with some fire. maybe the Steinbrenner boys should bring in Bonds for the rest of the season just to shake up the locker room! In so far as Jeter and his usual no comment comments...don't even waste your time interviewing the guy. He's a terrible interview anyway. Damon said he felt fine...why was he sat? I just don't get how JG thinks at times. Forget Tampa, we are I think 5 games down in the loss column to Boston. I strongly suggest we set our sights on the wild-card. I have a blessed rosary from Pope Benedict XVI...maybe it's time for a little "divine intervention" Have a great Tuesday folks!

I'm sorry you guys...but Moose and Andy's time is up. I dont want to see either of them on this team next season. I'd like top open the new stadium with new faces hungry for a ring.

My Rotation: Sabathia, Wang, Chamberlain, Hughes, Giese

Lineup: Damon, Jeter, Nady, Rodriguez, Matsui, Teixeira, Posada, Cano, Christian.

Very possible....you guys want to win win win, but you're saying NO TEX NO CC. You wont win without atleast one of them in pinstripes next year. These team is getting old. We NEED a young 1B that can hold the position down for years to come. Im sick of seeing multiple faces at that position over the course of the past 3 or so seasons....Christian needs to take melky's spot as well.

An embarrassment of riches on that field, literally this team was ran like a Fantasy League Team instead of a legit baseball operation. Give one of these batters to a struggling team in the AL or NL and they would feel blessed, but here on the Yankees you have to be an allstar 30-40 HRS to hit the field..forget OBP % , forget defense, forget speed or consistancy w/ RISP, NO YOU HAVE TO BE A SUPERSTAR !!!!

IT HAS NEVER WORKED THAT WAY WHEN DOES IT END !!!

And that's just it. I don't see Teixeira as a superstar. I think he's a good all around baseball player who fills tons of needs. He's gold glove caliber at first base,

As far as being clutch, I probably haven't seen as much of Tex as you have, but when I have, he seems to come through in the big spot. Everyone was yelling that Jason Bay wasn't clutch and look at how he's adjusted and performed well with the Sox this year. You take your chances with well rounded everyday players imo.

Those of you calling for Joba and Matsui to come back for a playoff run are completely deluded. This team WILL NOT make the post season! Time has run out for the Yankees in 2008; they would need to play .750 ball, starting tomorrow and sorry, but it ain't happening!
Better let those two heal completely and get ready for a real title run in 2009, hopefully without Girardi

They are not firing Girardi, much as some would like (it would be a ridiculous move) and if Brian isn't here next year, it's because he doesn't want to be.

What a surprise that Yankee fans are so impatient. I hope you guys aren't the same ones that lauded Cash's plan (rebuilding the farm and trying to build a team from within instead of signing overpriced veteran FAs), a plan which, by the very nature of it, can not come to fruition for another few years.
