I think it’s cool that the Yanks hit for the homer cycle yesterday. (Okay, that’s something I just made up, but it could be a legit stat.)

Grand slam: Giambi
Three run homer: A-Rod
Two run homer: Ransom
Solo shot: Nady

How often does that happen?

Well, it looks like they will see both Burnett and Halladay this week. YIKES!!!. Gotta hope Rasner and Ponson can keep the yanks close in those games. Baltimore has been a thorn in their side all year, so this week will certainly be a big test.

I went to Ireland last Friday and came back late yesterday.

What the hell’s going on?!? Five-game losing streak last week? Nine games back?

Hmmm. Seems like there are some pretty good pitchers on that list that just couldn’t handle New York. What can you do about Medical Record? Can’t hang that one on Cashman. That’s all on Carl. Clemens was probably a deal with the Steinbrenners (what did Roger tell George S. anyway?). Igawa turned out to be an ace. Hey! They need aces in AAA, too.

In this debate of whether or not to keep Brian Cashman, it is pretty obvious that he has signed some underperforming pitchers over the years- Kei Igawa, Jeff Weaver, the aforementioned Kevin Brown, Denny Neagle, the American Idle himself, the Roger Clemens rental of last year, Jose Contreras (but he found some success in Chicago), Randy Johnson (in fighting form when WCBS cameramen are involved), and Hideki Irabu.
