the new tagline for the rest of this season for the Yankees should be: "...and that's the way the cookie crumbles!"

maybe they're just sick and tired of wasting their time, money, and energy on a team that doesn't care and hasn't all season.

More and more ridiculous posts tonight. Arod can do no right in most peoples eyes, unreal. He gets a hit and it's still his fault. Who here wasn't thinking double out of the box? Overbay made a great play. Arod didn't run out of the box because he wasn't sure where the ball was, it was sort of off the end of the bat. We've seen guys do that a million times, but Arod gets bashed for not hustling out of the box. Lame.

Then we have so called fans hoping that Hughes pitches Sturday and gets shelled so that will prove that he really isn't any good and never will be. First of all, judging a guy on one start is stupid, but that's par for the course around here and second to hope that a Yankee fails, some Yankee fan. Unreal.

Speaking of Santana, the other Santana, the Angel's Santana, wasn't he offered in a trade with Chone Figgins and another player for A-Rod in 2006?

Anyway now we have to win 5 in a row then sweep Boston, and beat Halladay, Cabrera and Lester.

We will soon be facing the dilemma of the "double edged sword." By that I mean Yankees will need replacement players for starting pitching, 1st, CF and possibly LF, if the plan is to rid themselves of FA's and either Damon or Matsui. When they expand the rosters in September, if our so-called can't miss pitchers like Melancon don't perform, our minor league players might lose their trade value for needed replacement position players. Can't count on us signing Teixeira or CC.

For everyone who thinks Hughes is overrated, check the stats of Luke Hochevar, Jeremy Sowers, Clay Buchholz, or Homer Bailey. All were highly touted top draft picks and top prospects.

Go look at Moseley and Santana's numbers with the Angels when they first came into the league. Or look at the Rays' entire pitching staff when they were rookies for that matter!

Guys like Joba are the exception... not the rule. It's normal, even for good pitchers, to struggle when they first break into the bigs.

it's a quandary - benching Damon would be insane, but playing him in CF - well, there's a reason Melky's been the CF.

and Matsui has to play.

On the other hand the great Giambino cannot get out of town quick enough for me.

He has to hit 2 HRs every game to justify his presence at first.

A bottle of champagne above the fridge for the Great Giambino's last day in Pinstripes.

I can't wait.

And, wait...is that Pavano news update serious? I can not believe that as soon as the GM makes a statement saying basically, I've got your back, I won't say you quit on your team, and you just might start for us in a (now dead) playoff race...he goes and comes up with a stiff neck? That is really amazing.

We have to see the positives of this whole season. At least Mr. Torre will be RETURNING to the playoffs. Good for him. In my eyes, he's still a TRUE yankee!!!!!!

baseball is my favorite sport and its fun to watch
you win some, you lose some, thats how the game goes
but when your team is losing way more then its winning
thats when the game becomes depressing

and when you look up the word depressing i bet you it says 2008 Yankees

im still gonna watch and im still gonna have faith
lets just see how this road trip ends before we write off this series, but i also agree that we have everything going against us
