Brandon - That is some kick-*** pitching foursome. Imagine if just two of those guys can reach their ceiling. I will be greedy and plan for three and hope for four. But some of those guys with CC, Wang, Joba and Hughes (yes he will be back and better than ever next year) will be mighty fine.

Brandon - I can't imagine they don't protect him. He is supposed to have among the best pure stuff in the system with outstanding mechanics.
Hoepfully his head is on straight and he can do the trenton Scranton double next year.
AZ - I remember reading somewhere that Higoshoki (I will probably need to learn how to spell his name) had an excellent bat and is certainly in romine's league.
First base prospects after Miranda (who is having a very nice year) can be in rough order Laird, Suttle, Montero - although all play another position at this point. Problem for Laird and Suttle some future hall of famer is currently manning their position and has a multi-year deal.

Check it out!

LOS ANGELES—Dodgers left-fielder Manny Ramirez, sent to Los Angeles in a three-team trade two weeks ago, said Monday that he "really likes" the Red Sox's new blue-and-white uniforms. "I like it more than the red," Ramirez told reporters following the Dodgers' 8-6 win over the
Phillies Monday. "I'm also happy that they shortened the Green Monster, and painted it blue, because that wall was too tall before. And I'm really enjoying the easy schedule we've been playing lately." Although Ramirez admitted he didn't appreciate having "that vampire from the Yankees" [Joe Torre] hanging out in the dugout all the time,
he did say that he "completely approves of David Ortiz's new mustache" while gesturing towards Dodgers second baseman Jeff Kent.

jason he really should have been shut down but I'm guessing they want to see a couple of things w/ him. Nardi from what I heard is working extensively w/ him, his work ethic has changed he had tired shoulder most of this season, next year if he is still here remember Rule 5 anyway if he is still here hopefully he finds himself in AA.

Exactly Brandon. They need to move him to full-time 1B next year in Tampa. I understand he wants to stay at C and is motivated and willing to put in the work, but he is all about his bat. He has a special bat. A guy who can hit in the middle of the order. We need to find the best way to maximize his bat. Why cut his career short and hinder his offensive potential by keeping a guy that big behind the plate? Eventually the wear and tear will take away from his strength.

Let Romine be the catcher... if all goes well, he will hit 20+ HRs/.280-.300 from that spot with plus defense. He has a perfect catcher's frame and is very athletic. Same holds true for guys like Cervelli, Higoshoki, etc. though they don't have the offensive upside of Romine.

Not to mention, we don't have any legit 1B prospects. Miranda is nice but he isin't an everyday player on a good team. Laird's best position is 3rd too according to him. If you move Montero to 1st, he can fly through the system and really maximize his offensive potential. Nobody is saying that Montero can't be a good catcher, but with the depth at the position already and the bat potential of Montero at 1st is a no brainer.

It is inevitable.

Brandon - Today is a good day to follow the farm.
I really hope Garcia is putting it together and can stay healthy. He has given up one run or fewer in each of his starts in August (starting at 3 innings and moving up as he builds arm strength).
